| Blackmore's Night - Wish You Were Here |
Well...Valentine's Day is within the week and it's come quicker than i thought it would! I'm not single as i've been in the years past, so i will actually be celebrating for once! :)
Valentine's Day is also very fitting for music. As most, not all, music written has to do with love. No matter the type of song the ideas of love is usually found. It can be pure or distorted, honest or faithless, happy or sad. The emotions of the writer is found within each song as they pour their hearts into what they sing. Each song brings the authors experience of the love that they've felt throughout their life. Songs encompasses every kind of emotion from being full of joy at meeting their significant other to sadness at not finding that love.
It seems to me, in my opinion, that there are a lot more songs that deal with the sadness aspect of love. It does put one into a depressing state at times, but it also shows how important it is to hold someone close so you can confide in them. It makes one see that people are seeking for something that they have not found to fill the hole in their heart. Will they ever find it? I have no idea, but i think that every human being has that same drive to find love. For me, it is God who has filled that hole in my heart. Even though my girlfriend comes second, it is easier for me to love her by knowing what it means to understand true, sacrificial love.
As you listen to this song and any other song that you have come to know that speaks about love see if you can tell if they're full of joy or sadness. Which kinds do you tend to hear the most of?
Happy Valentine's day and enjoy this next song! :)
