| Iced Earth - When the Eagle Cries |
This summer has flown by quicker than I had ever imagined! Maybe that's a good thing? Well, at least it has been fun and a great time! July 4th is coming up and i've been bombarded with multiple parties that friends want me to attend. So i did the most logical thing...i'm heading out of town and out of state, up to Michigan! It should be a great time!
This next song is by a famous American metal band. Usually famous if you enjoy metal...which most people don't. This song though, is more set to a rock tone and not as heavy as most of the songs that they have put out. When the Eagle Cries is pretty straight forward as far as what it is about. It is one of the first songs that i heard of this band and it is written in response to 9/11. Friends argue that the lyrics are too much in line with country, i don't disagree, but at least the song doesn't 'sound' like it!
I thought that this would be a good song to include in relation to the U.S. independence day. I know that everyone who reads this does not celebrate it, but indenpendence is a good thing eh? Without freedom of 'music' to express ourselves, we wouldn't have the music we do today! And that could be said for all countries, as freedom of speech is very powerful.
