 God 2.0 - Introduction
Coming to terms with God, as mankind's understanding of the ultimate power in our Universe, is the entire basis of our existence.  Mankind’s comprehension of the most significant part of our Universe has a far greater effect than anything else on our lives and the way we interpretation the world we live in and as a result on all our actions and non-actions.  In other words, misrepresentation of the greatest power of all can ultimately result in our self destruction.

The importance of understanding God is so not only crucial to our survival but also forms the basis for being able to show our true love, appreciation and respect to God and God's Universe in the way we each choose to serve the greatest power of all.

As mankind evolves we learn more about our past, our Planet and the Universe. And with this knowledge we are better able to understand the significance of God.  Therefore, anything that anyone will or has commented on regarding God, should always be re-evaluated in terms of what is known about the world at that point in time.

If we look at the last 12,000 years or the period of mankind’s development since the end of the last Ice Age and mankind's emergence from the Stone Age, the three most significant bodies of literature in the western world regarding the understand of God are the Jewish Bible and then based on that the Christian Bible and then the Koran.  The later two works are not only based on the first but are considered to be a continuation of them.

In the Jewish Bible God is presented as literally speaking to our forefathers, making agreements, covenants and promises and sometimes literally taking matters into God's own hands, i.e. not allowing the brilliance of the physical world God has created to work out the issue but rather God is depicted as intervening directly and personally.  And this presentation of God has been continued into the Christian Bible and the Koran.   Based on what we know today this is all highly unlikely.  Considering the terrible things that have come to pass in the last several hundred years since God, supposingly, last intervened personally, why would God have chosen to intervene personally then and not know?

The answer is simple, God created a perfectly balanced Universe, a true credit to God's awesome brilliance, in such a way that God never needs to intervene in a personal, human like manner and anything said to the contrary should be scrutinized very, very carefully and certainly not blindly believed.  And it is exactly from here where we will begin to try and rediscover God...

We will go back and relook at the beginning of time, some 15 billion years back, then travel through prehistory, religious development after the last Ice Age, the later development of Judaism and much later development of Christianity and still later development of Islam, through the dark ages and into modern history, right to the present.  And then when we feel that we can see our past clearer, we will work from there to better understand God and what our relationship with God is.

With an open mind and a clear heart, together we can rediscover God, God's plans for us and God's
Universe.

Please post any comments you have and I'll be glad to reply.

Hi Lloyd... That was really deep. I am glad you signed up to thoughts.com... With thoughts like these you are sure to bring some interesting conversations into play. Very well said buddy :) Here is a little tip since you are new to the community: be sure to leave comments on others people's blogs when you have something to say on their post. They will appreciate the feedback and likely come back to your blog to leave comments on what you have to say. This is a circle that drives itself because once you have a few comments on your blog, more people want to read what is being discussed and then they will join the conversation as well. I look forward to reading more of your thoughts.

Hey Ben, thanks buddy :) I love this site! Yeah, it is quite deeeeep but those are my thoughts... When I look at the world around me and at myself I see too many issues at very elementary levels. A house that is build on poor foundations will fall and for me, especially cause I live in Israel, in the Western Galilee, where issues surrounding God are taken very seriously, I feel it's extremely important to get to the root of these things. Thanks for commenting tip, I do that. Cheers buddy and love to the family.

Shannon :)) yes, it's so exciting and challenging and what better a place to discuss this on than thoughts.com! Probably never before have the masses of mankind been more ready than now to take responsible, positive initiative for our existence. The awareness exists and now we must gently and peacefully help to mold the positive new reality, a reality that will have plenty of place for personal expression and freedom. Very exciting and challenging stuff! And not something to take lightly... Great to make contact again! Last time we met was a very fun time for me, what better a place to meet than on the quaint streets of Amsterdam ;D
