 Do you believe in god?
Ive been struggling with myself about doing this blog for awhile now,I'm sure many have covered the topic and many will in future. Please don't view it as your own soap box to preach to any one about what your individual beliefs are.A simple yes or no will do.One of the three rules i follow is never discussing religion with people because it tends to become heated and argumentative in many ways. Its just I can't come to grips with the logic of blaming god when bad things happen.I'm not saying that I'm perfect and my thinking is acceptable to the masses but why is it when things go right we never hear about it?My theory is simple, maybe my child was on his way to school and could have been in a fatal accident but wasn't and came home to me alive and well.Or the job that i really wanted wasn't the best for me and that's why i didn't get it.So many things happen or didn't happen as the case might be and we will never know.If you think there is a god and he is a mean and uncaring one then also you must believe there is evil.I have never ever in all my years heard some one blame Satan or the devil when something goes wrong.why is that?It just saddens me so when i hear others talk this way.

Yes, I believe in God.
I feel that he only puts you in situations that he knows you can handle, even if you don't think you can handle it/are handling it properly. He wants to make you stronger.

no..i dont believe in god..
secondly if you son comes home without any harm whats so strange about it? because there are innumerable others who dont return to their mothers..why did god choose your son to return home safely, only?either you are divine(just kidding) or God is as evil as he is good(which is a contradictory statement, because if god is all perfect and all good he cannot do evil since he is perfect in his goodness and good never bears evil).or actually he like to kill some people he chooses, which is insane.,...

Hi lizzybert42,

I believe in God but I also feel that they're right when they say,
"To each,his own."
Even I don't broach the topic of religion with people. It can get ugly at times.
And I'm glad you finally decided to post this blog! :)

Look to the blog called "Anotatos" and you may see another aspect of your spirituality. Anotatos or God .... very much the same thing only the Anotatos has not been given the human traits God has been given by organized religions.

I’ve been struggling with myself about doing this blog for awhile now, I'm sure many have covered the topic and many will in future. Please don't view it as your own soap box to preach to any one about what your individual beliefs are. A simple yes or no will do. One of the three rules I follow is never discussing religion with people because it tends to become heated and argumentative in many ways. Its just I can't come to grips with the logic of blaming god when bad things happen. I'm not saying that I'm perfect and my thinking is acceptable to the masses but why is it when things go right we never hear about it? If you think there is a god and he is a mean and uncaring one then also you must believe there is evil. I have never ever in all my years heard some one blame Satan or the devil when something goes wrong. Why is that? It just saddens me so when I hear others talk this way.

My theory is simple maybe my child was on his way to school and could have been in a fatal accident but wasn't and came home to me alive and well. Or the job that I really wanted wasn't the best for me and that's why I didn't get it. So many things happen or didn't happen as the case might be and we will never know.

Ok first yes I do believe in God.

Second; blaming God comes from our knowledge of an Omni-potent God, which creates in us a sense of confusion when we have something bad happen to us. After all we know that He is good, all knowing, and loves us unconditionally. The problem is that we often forget about free will. The ability to do good or evil is inherent in all of us. So when someone wrongs us in some way we immediately and instinctively look to blame God (because of our knowledge of Him). When in reality someone choose to use their free will to produce evil. We are not the puppets of God but his children.

Third; I hope you are not offended by my rewriting of your post. I became confused with what seemed to me as an unrelated reference to why God would favor some and not others. Personally I don’t know if God favors one person more that he favors another, but I do believe in the law of attraction. So your child comes home safe because you believe he will, and the job you didn’t get is because a better one is coming your way.

Last of all; as for blaming Satan, I do believe we have all heard the phrase “the devil made me do it”. Other then that we all have trails and tribulations, the bible tells us that. How we chose to deal with them determines the outcome of our lives.

THERE IS A GOD AND THERE IS A DEVIL
I WOULD NOT BE HERE GOD SAVED MY LIFE

JESUS IS GOOD AND I HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM AND I LOVE HIM

I grew up religiously ignroant. I didn't go to church growing up, didn't study the Bible, didn't pray. Didn't know anything about religion.

In college, I researched the Wiccan faith. After a few months and about a dozen books I determined this was an internally inconsistent system of belief. Too many contradictions. I discovered the same thing with Buddhism. At that point, I decided that all religion was next to worthless.

Three years later, a friend of mine invited me a Bible study. In this one 45-minute meeting, several misconceptions were cleared up for me. Curious, I kept attending the study and began to read the Gospel according to Matthew. A year later, I accpeted Jesus as my Lord and my Savior. It's been a great fiendship for the last 24 years.

So, yes, I believe in God. That's one thing I have in commn with Satan. The difference between us, well, one difference, is that I submitted my life to Jesus instead of rebelling against Him.
