| 11.8.09 - New here |
Hello. I am new here. I do blog at another site. I am just expanding and like to make new friends. So I am just trying out to see if I enjoy this site. So I am gonna start what's going on with me recently....
Yesterday I went to work for a couple hours then went grocery shopping. Mom bought a few things we'll be needing for Thanksgiving and we will be having it over at my sister's. Last year it was just my mom and I and am happy we can all be together for TG except Matt (my nephew) will probably be at Amanda's (him & Greg; sis b/f do not get along is why he won't be there). We went home to take care of the groceries then half hour later had to take my mom's friend Clara shopping and she needed my help since she couldn't lift anything unless it was really light (she fell down the other day and her whole left side is black and blue). After that, my mom and I went home and waited for my sister to get done with work cuz the Girl Scout Cookies we ordered came in! Yay! Laura stayed to chat awhile. One of her friends might be buying one of the phones that I bought for Brenda. The phones are flipped, keyboard type and I want $50 for them. I plan to use that money if they sell towards the Verizon bill. Brenda still owes me for the phone bill, so she still have the rest of this month come up with the money (She scammed me into buying cellphones for her and she'd pay the bill. We are not friends anymore).

This is from my friend Mae's blog: Can Tabs for Keegan for the Ronald McDonald House
We're asking all of our friends and family to collect the tabs off of soda cans. We will then be taking these tabs and delivering them to the Ronald McDonald House in Honor of Keegan to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.
The hospital we are currently attending for Keegan, the University of MO, is soon transferring the children's portion across town to Columbia Regional (Univ. bought them out a couple years back). From what I hear, Regional will be strictly for child patients. Which is great news considering now the childrens area at the University is very crowded and smooshed. So they could really use some more room to better provide for the young patients!
Since the childrens part is moving across town, the Ronald House will be moving across town as well, they could really use some more funding to help them re build and to provide more services for the family.
Since the economy fell they had to start charging for the service. It used to be free and you could make a donation to the House.
The Ronald House services MANY families! From Cancer patients, to preemies, to children with other chronic diseases and so much more! The Ronald House gives parents a place to stay while their child is in the hospital for an extended period of time. It's a very home like place.
The RMDHC are trying to raise $500,000 by Dec. 31st.
