Humans are just petty little things. Children are born to pick out features in people that are ugly or disliked without any shame. Its an evolution process planted in the brains of the unborn, humans don't voluntarily learn it. Its an evolution process, why? Are we suppost to warn ourselves away from the idiosyncratic. Be aware of the mole on a womans cheek and try not to look at it so she wont notice, so she wont be offended, yet it is just so big, you cant help it, you have to look at it. Maybe humans are too curious. Maybe we want to notice, maybe it isnt ugly just quirky. People are dedicated to being different yet odly conforming to their social group. Maybe we think we like different but when we see different we get second thoughts. Do we like different? Or only when it looks pretty to be so.

the things we are evolutionarily predisposed to find attractive are those things that offered our ancestors evolutionary success. simply put, they were good indicators for finding a good mate. there's no need to look any deeper than that when dealing with our predispositions in terms of "beauty." it has nothing to do with conformity on way or the other.
