Babies are everywhere!! Hollywood especially. And with all the postings i've read about Jamie Lynn getting pregnant at such a young age, it made me think. Is that REALLY unusual for our society today?  How many young girls do you see on talk shows like Maury and Dr. Phil, Court shows like Judge Mathis or Judge Judy, and in news headlines EVERYWHERE that are having babies? Yes, it's crazy. But, is it a big shock? No, not anymore.

But, why is this happening? Many reasons. One may be for a reason I mentioned in an earlier blog--Cult religions allowing free sex.

2) Another may be children are so sheltered, that when they are finally allowed some freedom, they go nuts. This may be Jamie Lynn's case. And, I can also relate. Comming from a 50 mile wide area of nothing but farmland, church, bars, and high school sports, one had NO idea what the real world is like. I remember seeing a subway for the first time in 8th grade... haha WOW. Jamie Lynn was raised in sucha "i'm a church girl, yall" world, she may have broken loose. I know here, even though all the towns and villages have 3-5 thousand people, there are lots of children having babies. What the hell else do we have to do but go to church, disobey are parents with alcohol, and have sex. It's just common. She's a hillbilly like we are. haha

3)Bad influences in their life- Many children have poor partents, relatives, or siblings in their life. Divorce breaks up families. Abusive parents. Drugs. Alcohol. Many people, including JLS, experience these issues. They have really never seen a family work...properly. It's not their fault that they don't know any better than what they were taught.

4) Sex education is lacking. I know, at my school, we didn't even have it. We learn where babies came from, and that's it. We didn't learn about SEX, CONDOMS, BIRTH CONTROL, or STDS. THey say it's for our own protection. How the heck is that protecting us? We don't know SHIT. I'm just lucky I had a mother who wasn't stupid.. lol.

So there you have it. My thoughts. Love it. Hate it. I don't care!:)
♥ me!:)

I didn't get to finish the post the way I wanted, because I had to head to work, lol. I am, however, going to reply to the comment that I had, because she's right.. I didn't finish my thoughts.(Thank you!:))
But, no, i'm not saying it's all bad children having children. It's bad when children are having babies and can't support them or love them the way they want. JLS is going to have plenty of support and love in her family, so i'm not worried.
And, it's not all about sex education. Like I stated, there are millions of other reasons that this sort of thing happens. Sometimes, no matter what they are taught, young girls just do not listen. I know this
I have one.. well i guess you could call her a "friend"....who has a year old baby. She was adopted as a child, and she never felt like she fit in with her fam. They were very rich, religious, and respected individuals of the community. She had sex with everyone, drank, did drugs, tried to commit suicide... and she made sure everyone knew that she did. When she had a baby.. she did it on purpose. She thought that she could handle it. Turns out, her mom adopted the baby, and she no longer has him in her life, besides on holidays.
Then, I have another good friend. My best friend. She came from a family that wasn't so steady. She was out of control with alcohol, but was an overall great smart (straight A's!) and nice person. When she got pregnant, she was terrified. But, i honestly think it saved her life. She stopped drinking and now is one of the best mothers I have ever known.

So, I guess what I am saying is, we shouldn't be so shocked about JLS and other teenagers being pregnant so early. It's not as uncommon as you think. Planned or not, one should prepare themselves and try to bring the baby into the most loving environment you can. I know  you will all try!:)

There we go!!

I do agree when saying that Sex education is lacking and I am a semi-regligious person but just because there are so many people having babies doesnt mean that they were all on accident, and it certainly doesnt mean it all stems from lack of sexual education.

Could sex education be thought out more and put to you kids differently of course, but then again your post could use some more thought as well.
