I understand. What a generous heart you have for taking in her kids. That 5 years may make the difference for those kids. Someone once told me that when you are an adult, you get to choose your family. I guess that's true, but is still hurts. Keep your boundaries and stick to your guns...

Sounds like some great goals. From someone who travels every week by air, thank you for doing what you do to keep us all safe. I can't imagine what it would be like without competent people running the air show!

I think you are trying to do the best you can do to figure out the "whys" of your life. I wouldn't take his comment to heart. He may have his own "parental" issues going on and is transfering them to you. Keep searching...I'm rooting for you!

When you are a child, you don't have a choice about who your family is. When you become an adult, family is whomever you choose it to be. I have two kids, six and eleven. My parents have both passed away. My husband's parents are very selfish, could care less about the kids and rarely contact...

Don't rule out meds. They don't have to mask your feelings. They can actually give you the ability to keep your head above water while you access deeper feelings that you might otherwise not be able to handle without the help of meds. Lots of meds that don't have sexual side-effects. Try...
