the festival season is over
the past couple of days have been a little hard, accepting that the festival season is basically over for the year. in december i saw daft punk, january i went to big day out, february i saw a live band in brisbane, and march i went to the V Festival. i guess i can pin my hopes on Parklife later on in September, but it's a bloody long time to wait.

see i have to stop here and explain some things.
i hardly ever drink. i would say on average maybe once or twice a month i might have a beer or two. i get properly drunk maybe twice a year.
i don't smoke cigarettes. i did when i was in high school, and sometimes i do feel like one, but i would on average have about half a cigarette a year.
i smoke weed probably once a month.
i hate going 'out' in the sense of 'out' being some shit club with loud top 40 music and sleazy guys hanging on the bar stools. the last time i went to a club with the intention of going out on the town, was my 18th birthday. so yes, i can assure, you, i don't go 'out'.
i work early mornings, so i go to bed early (around 9pm). until recently i used to work 6 days a week. now i work 5.

so generally at a music festival i will pop a bickie. or three.

to me, music festivals are like that holiday in fiji that a lot of other people strive for. a music festival is a whole day of letting loose. i love the atmosphere of a music festival because it's a massive contained space that is filled with people who all have at least one thing in common: music.
most people are usually friendly. everyone looks out for each other. you're all there for a good day.

so. i have a pretty general life, and i have these days to look forward to. summer is the festival season, as they say, and its true. there are so many during december through to march. but then you blink, and they're gone, and you have to trudge through another nine months or so waiting for the next year.
so when i say it's been a little hard accepting the fact that there aren't any more for another 6-9 months, i mean, IT'S BEEN A LITTLE HARD ACCEPTING THE FACT.
