 Souless Art
I'm going to need a head count of athiest artists. I mean artists of all medians, not just painting or drawing or sketching, I mean all artists. Does a belief in a high power give an artist a sense of meaning to his work? Is religion so ingrained in our being that there is no such thing as an athiest peice of art? Is that what I lack as an actor? Or as a writer? Or is it my youth that's holding me back? And if it is my youth is my athiesm a phase? Or is it somthing I do (or don't, depending on which way you look at it) believe?

wow!
i like this question!
IMHO creativity exists. it does not require a spiritual imprint.
although i think that all of us, in what we think or paint or write, are looking to represent themes that are meaningful to us. these themes often deal with relationships between self and others/society or between self and life.
spiritual?
i dunno.
:o)
what do you think?
cheers!

A belief in a higher power I think gives everything just kind of place, a way to think of itself. Art I think can exist by just searching for something without having the answer. youth holding you back? hardly. if anything, youth holds fewer boundaries, obstacles jadedness(hahah...what a word) and therefore allows you to explore further.

So that wasn't as profound as I would have liked, but glad I got to throw my thoughts into cyberspace.
