I have been dreading writing this post for the last week...ever since my name was announced as a winner for the wonderful Vegas trip. I was so honored to have been chosen even though I have no idea (still) what qualified me or how I was chosen as a winner. What does one have to do to get in the running or be selected for this? I'm not sure what I did exactly except write about all the crapola that is my life, some jokes, some rants, and some life altering changes. It's funny how all my life I've thought of myself as unlucky in many areas. I come here and all of a sudden things change. I meet wonderful ppl....a very 'special' person.....and win a trip to Las Vegas....and how did I do these things????? By simply being me and sharing my life and dreams with a website. I'll never understand how life works....never!
Anyways....I digress here.....The reason I am writing this post is to say that I won't be going to Las Vegas. I have some personal issues to deal with and it's just not going to be possible this year. I have explained to Mr. Ben and am not going to elaborate here. My reasons are personal and I am dealing with them. I thank Thoughts.com for choosing me and sincerely hope that I am again in the running next year as things will be different and I will be better equipped to travel and enjoy the festivities. I'll keep my suitcase handy....to be sure!!!
Thank you to all who emailed me with congrats too. I didn't answer most of them bc I didn't know what to say. It wasn't intended to be a rude gesture at all, so please forgive me if it came off that way. I hope all that attend this trip have a wonderful, fantastic, magical time....and win lots of money gambling. Take care....

there's a time and place for everything. It was nice to be chosen but I'm glad you're being responsible and taking care of what seems to be really important.
Best of luck for next year's trip. I'm sure if not then, there will be another time you will be rewarded for your sacrifice. God is funny like that sometimes.

I'm sorry you won't be going. I was looking forward to meeting you. While it's a great honor to be chosen ...(and like you I have no idea what qualified me) it's terrifying as well. I also have some personal issues I'm working through. My creativity flows through my anonymity and I love that when I come to thoughts I can just be me, in my own right. No one has to know how messy my life is. While I look forward to the adventure the "fear and trembling" seems to be winning out. I am already fielding questions from inquiring minds who wish to know more. I find myself unsure if I can handle or want to share myself in a greater capacity. Peace.

I am happy for you that you were honored with the prize - obviously they thought you deserved it (I agree with them...) It's too bad you can't go but, you are right, there is always next year.

last, after reading this post, I know that your life is changing for the better and I am so happy for all the good things, and winning the trip is a good thing in itself, even if you dont go, but there will be alot of disappointed people, including myself who were anxious to meet you...but you seem to be listening to your heart and gut, and you have to trust in yourself...we will be thinking about you as badly drawn said and you will be missed!

Kaz, You know you deserved it - the world is turning for you! Good stuff from now on, well after this anyway. Hugs and kisses and plenty of emails... I hope you do still get a Las Vegas T-shirt from someone, or maybe if they win big, they can bring you back a replica of one of the casino's ... do they do them?? Lol.

I'd sure like the shirt...that would be cool. Not sure about the replica of a casino though, sounds sort of glitzy and anyone that knows me will tell you I am the most unglitzy person in the world...LOL Thanks for the kind words and maybe next year...I'll start saving now!!! :)
