last night i watched a dvd called The Girl Next Door. it was based on a true story and it was one of the saddest stories i've ever seen. i cried and got angry at the sheer fact that some people could do that to another person let alone a child. it reminded me of a book i read A Child Named Nobody. the actors in this movie deserve kudos for being able to do this horendous story. the young actress that played meg was amazing and i wonder how this will affect her or the other young actors for that fact. it was about two young girls that lost their parents and were sent to live with their demented aunt and her two sons. shortly after they came to live there the aunt started doing things to the younger sister and she told her older sister and in trying to protect her the older sister put herself in harm's way. the aunt put her in the basement and stripped her and hung her from the ceiling with the help of her sons and his friends. they tortured this child mentally, physically and sexually for months. when someone finally tried to help he was also tied and held captive. the final act was mind blowing and so vile that i can hardly believe it happened to someone. i thought i could never take another's life but after seeing this movie and what someone can do to another i believe i could.
