I hearby accept this honor although I'm not quite sure if I can live up to the expectations of those before me....But I shall try.
Cheers to those QOD'ers who have gone before me: Anotherdaze, Hollis, EasyToSay, KP, Angelwings, Long, TonyRayHutchison, SpiritualComa, Pixierose, Smileforthecamera, GeordieDreamer, WhiteKnight, Meredith, Prelude2it, Bullseye, Mamacita925, DouglasMB, Mandie142, LadieGodiva, Katydids_and_daisies, Slash, Noahseth, Kaybee, JBP and Sean Barr. Apologies to anyone I missed.
Sorry I posted the QOD this evening but I have to get up at 4:30 and I can't see let alone type at that hour.
I really didn't know what I was going to ask until tonight while watching my favorite movie....Pride and Prejudice....what a romantic movie. So in keeping with that I was thinking how great it would be to live in that era and live as Elizabeth Bennett and marry Mr. Darcy....sigh.
Todays question is a one parter....If you could choose a movie and a character to be what would it be? Name the movie....the character and why you would want to live as them. It can be any movie even a cartoon if you please.
You already know mine....Pride and Prejudice....bc its so romantic....Elizabeth Bennett, she is the main character and so 'with it' even for a Jane Austin novel....She meets and falls in love with Mr. Darcy the stand offish guy who turns out to be the hero of the film and book and they share the one and only kiss which is the kiss of a lifetime. To live that would be my ultimate dream.
I pass the baton on to tantrictouch....is she so chooses to partake of a little baton swapping....

the notebook
I want to be Noah Calhoun, played by Ryan Gosling.
Its a heart breaking tale of love found, love lost, and love coming home. Its beyond powerful, and its my favorite movie ever. And I'd want to live life as Noah, because love won for him, love made him and end the end love took him with it.

movie-"what dreams may come"
I'd want to be the main character woman which off he top of my head can't remember who she was. just because her husband (Robin Williams) gave up heaven, walked through the gates of hell to bring his love back to him.

Movie: The Princess Bride
Character: Wesley
He fought through some of the crazy shit just to get to Buttercup (the princess). He even cheated death. It's one of my favorite movies because it's got a bit of everything. Romance, comedy, action. In my opinion, it's the ultimate Romance movie.
Wesley:I'll always come for you.
Buttercup:How can you be sure?
Wesley:Because this is true love.

Breakfast at Tiffany's and I would be Holly Golightly, of course, and live in my own made up world. Huh, art imitates life. If I were a cartoon though, Bugs Bunny, brash, fearless, funny, and he does have a cute twitch of the tail.

Rocky Balboa(the first and last movies especially)
He gets his chance at greatness, his shot
He works at it and his hard work gets him respected. And in all this he never loses his heart, never becomes a jerk(that is why maybe we leave a lil of the middle movies out)and he gets the woman that he loves.
And when he loves her he loves her with everything he has yet his love is very simple and pure

Carrie Bradshaw from Sex & The City but I wouldn't want to look like her. I would want to look like me. I think it's awesome that she ended up with the man that she loves working her dream job as a writer. She also has wonderful friends and gets to live in awesome apartment in NYC which would also be close to my family.

This is real close to Douglas's question but there is so much to choose from most of us couldn't pick just one!
I'd say Lord of the Rings. I'd like to play Liv Tylers part as the elf princesses. Her riding through the water on that beautiful horse and saving the hobbit with the ring. Not to mention the guy that she was in love with was totally HOT! I don't remember all the names.

As a child I want to be any character that Shirley Temple played. I had her hair, my mum made some of her clothes for me to wear, I thought I could sing and dance like her however I was wrong.
Btween the ages of 9-13, I wanted to be Julie Andrews as Maria in the Sound of Music. I just thought that being a nun, looking after children, falling in love and fleeing you home land to keep your famiy together was so romantic. Then I read her book and it was nothing like the book, seems the real Maria was a very foolish woman at times.
From 13 - 15, I wanted to be Oliva Newton John as Sandy. The goodie two shoes falling in love with the leather clad bad boy, now that to me was hot at the time.
But now I think I would like to be Hilary Swank's Character in Ps I love you. To loose love, but to find herself with the help from her love, shows me that you can find yourself again no matter how hard it seems at first.
TonyRay you are such a romantic, not man guys would admit to liking that film.
PS Sorry for the long post.

I would want to be Mary Boleyn in the Other Boleyn Girl, but more the book than the movie. (I read the book first and it was way better.)
I would like to go back to that period of time and see what it was like, and get to wear those poofy dresses. I like her character because she is strong and simple, finds true love after a steamy affair with King Henry, and doesn't get beheaded.

Character: Selene
She's hot, where's hot outfits, kicks ass, drives fast cares and gets the hot guy. Oh, and she's a vampire-the definition of bad-ass.

So many mives to choose from... My first thought would be the part of Jim Craig in The Man from Snowy River. Living in the mountains, establishing ones place in the rural society, and of course going against great odds for all this and a woman. But I have also live most the main rolls of Clerks; the part of Joe Fox in You've Got Mail; even some Joe Dirt thrown in, just to name a few.
But I always keep coming back to one that I would be perfect for above all others... Burt Reynolds as Bo Darville a.k.a. the 'Bandit'. What guy of my generation has not dreamed of being such a show-off and outlaw (in a cowboy hat)? Thought of that sleek and sexy black Trans Am rocketing down the raod with cops on your tail? Having 'Frog' in those tight white pants of hers riding along side ya? Anyways, there's mine hehehe. :D

AlreadyJaded...anything to do with Disney is wonderful.

I'd either have to borrow Prelude's answer - Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, or Melanie Griffith's character in Working Girl. That girl had gumption. She fearlessly went for what she wanted and got it, along with a young Harrison Ford. She rocked which is more than I can say for myself these days.

An honest, caring and loveable crazy girl who follows her heart where it leads her, and is true to herself. :)

Dammit Noah.. W
esley's awsome, not to mention all he had to say was 'as you wish' and the hottie fell for him, talk about style.
"That is funny, I'm not left handed either"
OK so I have to come up with my own then...
The Road Runner. His very core of existance is to run, and he does it better that anyone else, when and where ever he wants.
Plus he gets to watch Wild E. Coyote repeatedly make a complete dick of himself.

Meg Ryan in City of Angels...okay she dies, but Nicholas Cage is prepared to give up a life of immortality for her...wow...
I know Dave's too...his favourite movie is Get Carter cause its set in Newcastle...he'd want to be Michael Caine's character (I forget the name)...or he'd be Laurel or Hardy cause those guys crack him up.
I have a feeling Stanley would work well as Stewie from Family Guy...granted, not a movie, but I just have the feeling the lil guy is smarter than he lets on...lol

Tang Lung a/k/a Dragon, Bruce Lee's character in Return of the Dragon. He's such a bad ass, he kills Chuck Norris who we all know is indestructible.
Or I'd like to be Jar-Jar Binks from Star Wars because of his madcap antics and zaniness!
