I had my evaluation today....Sunday! Whoever heard of an evaluation on a Sunday? My boss was the MOD (manager on duty) and even though she wasn't suposed to conduct dept business she did anyway.
My day was going pretty shitty anyway so whats one more thing to add to it? Father Alan...(my ass kissing coworker) was very quiet today. He knew i was angry when I began throwing shit all over the place. BEWARE OF FLYING POTS AND PANS!....WARNING!...WARNING! I actually wasn't that bad but he still got the point. I finally just grabbed a coffee and went outside to get a break. What do you know? Alan comes outside too. WTF does he want? Please leave me alone....is all I could think. I had just about had enough of his sanctimonious bullshit this week so for me to want to get out of the kitchen to be alone and then have him slither out too was not putting a smile on my face. 'So whats wrong?'.....I can't talk to this guy so I just made up some crappy lie to tell him. I supose he finally figured I wasn't going to talk to him and he got up and left. I thought I could finish my coffe at last in peace and quiet.....NOT! Another nutcase came out and proceeded to tell me about men and how she hates them and then went on to tell me for the thousandth time about her ex and her newest ex. I just sat there 'not listening' to her.
The day got worse...I went to pick up a tub of salad....a big tub....and the lid slipped and I had tossed salad all over the place. It literally went up in the air and then EVERYWHERE! I just started to cry....I stood in that stupid kitchen and just sobbed like some idiot child. I had tried to help out in the dish room to be nice and dropped a rack of glasses. I flooded the sink bc I was trying to do 6 things at once. The day was bad to say the least.
Finally when I got a few minutes I went to my boss and told her I had a few and if she wanted to talk to me she better take advantage of it. She did. We went into the office and she sat down.....I'm so ready for the shit to hit the fan at this time..... But nothing.....She tells me how well I've done and then shows me the 'marks' she has given me. I scored high...really high. I was then informed she will be quitting at some point and she was grooming me with all the extra work to replace her. Someone told me this week it looked like thats what she was doing. I just looked at her as I was doing to my boss when she said it. She said I was the only one she could 'trust' to do a good job and she knew i could handle it. WOW.... I was so flattered.
So I got a nice raise....a new job offer....and some much earned kudos for my hard work. I was content for once. Maybe next week will be bad too....don't know. Maybe my life will suck again....don't know that either. What I do know right now is life is ok...not perfect but damn well OK.....and I'll settle for that.
