Here is the second installment of my kids......JENNIFER RENEE'......the third of my children.....
Let me see.......Jenny was and still is the 'quiet' one. she is so quiet that she based where she would attend college on the factoid of whether she would have to speak in front of the class or not......the college she finally chose had no public speaking and promised her she wouldn't have to speak unless she wanted to. lol could not believe she actually found one, but she did. just goes to show the lengths she will go to achieve her goals.
I knew when i was carrying her that she was a girl.....just knew. Again my date to deliver came and went with no baby.....went to my ob/gyn and he didn't know what was holding her up there i was so low and had begun to dialate......this was friday. I was told that i would most likely deliver before monday but just in case he would book me for a labor induction first thing monday. the weekend came and went and again my child was content to stay safe and warm in me.
   monday morning came around and they gave me the drug that would help me to go into labor.......WOW......did someone just kick my ass or something???? i felt like i had been thrust into pain city.....there was no little easing into this labor......uh uh.....it went straight for the jugular...... after a couple hours i knew 'something' wasn't quite right. the pain was so terribly intense i couldn't breathe and thought my insides were turning out. 'somethings wrong' i spoke in a whisper to the nurse.....'no, its ok' i was assured....but i had already given birth twice before and i knew it wasn't ok. finally i started pushing. i wanted this over quick. i wanted this kid out of me. i could take it no longer.
They took me to delivery and did all the things that was needed and said 'here we go', (yeah, right! who was having this kid anyway?). i knew as i was delivering something had happened they weren't expecting......she was flipped the wrong way. she was turned face up instead of face down and every time i had a contraction i would bear down and push on her little face. she was most likely in as much pain as i was. jenny was born at the exact stroke of 12 noon.....the noon signal rang out at the fire house as i was giving birth to her......what an entrance. she weighed in at 6lbs 91/2oz. she looked like a little raccoon. she was bruised from the bridge of her nose up to the middle of the top of her little head. she was PURPLE, but sooooooo beautiful.....black hair and those baby blues i was so used to seeing by now. she smiled at me the moment she was laid in my arms and i knew we would be great friends......:)
   Jen was another great athlete in the family. she was a quiet one but a good one none the less. i would always have to do the asking and talking for her but she still got through things and so did i. she was on the softball team as were her two sisters. it was always so nice to go to the games bc i got to see three of my kids play ball all at the same time. they never had to sit on the bench so i got to see them play all the time. jen also got chosen for the state competition. she was so nervous but did so well.
   Jen exceled in her studies. i don't know how she managed with all the homework she had....algebra, calculous, trig, it just seemed to never end at times. but she always brought home straight A's and A+'s. it was rare i ever saw a B on her report card.
     She was not so 'into' boys during her HS years but did somehow manage to meet MIKEY......i don't actually know how they got together bc neither one talked. they were the most quiet people i had ever seen.
   But they did mangage to fall in love and got engaged after HS and had a fairy tale wedding. Jen was an accountant by this time and if she could save a buck she did. she made almost everything she could for her wedding herself and it was gorgeous. she had been a waitress and had bargained with the owners for her catering and ended up not paying one cent......i'm telling you that girl can save $1.10 out of $1.00. she is quite the banker.
   She and mikey had two children......jared and the now famous riley...:) she is a tiny girl and gave birth to an almost 10lb baby without a stitch.....no jokes please. they had bought a huge home (where i am living at the moment) and moved in the day after she came home from giving birth to jared. she never missed a beat, not a one.
She had always had aspirations to own her own business and set a goal for herself. "i will own my own business by the time i'm __years old." i had taught her cooking skills as well as baking ones too. she was so mulitalented it was like watching a miniature Martha Stewart.....i swear it was. she could make a silk purse out of a sow's ear or what ever else she had handy. her crafts were admired by so many and she had such a huge clientele for them it was unreal. her dream of owning her own business was slowly taking a back seat to her crafting it seemed.
   Jen finally began talking to the woman that would soon become her partner. they had both studied pastry arts and both were interested in opening a bakery. they shopped around for the perfect spot and found a vacant apartment and asked the landlord if they could rent it and turn it into a bakery/coffee house. he said yes and 'Mainstreet Sweets' was born.
   If you want a cheesecake that melts in your mouth then go there. what flavor you may ask.......apple caramel? chocolate mint? lemon mist? key lime? pumpkin? pina colada????plain??? you name it and they can do it. cookies anyone??? omg....choc. chip, sugar, ginger???? cake too? yes and any flavor bc they are ALL SCRATCH........how about a pie??? jen has her own recipe for pie crust and it is melt in your mouth good...... all that and you can add the biggest cinammon buns you can find and tarts, and cupcakes and just everything imaginable to eat and get fat on. and while you're eating how about a frappocino??? or a latte, or cappacino or a chai???? now who needs anything else??? well, those that want ice cream do......cappucino crunch is sinful, and should be declared illegal for sure....lol....and chocolate work???? this girl can make the sweetest candy and the most decorative chocolate work ever seen......not to brag but i taught her a lot of that.....i love working with chocolate.
I got her the account of the place i work and i some how got the job of pick up service when its convenient and i don't mind. today i had to pick up a cake and while i was there she showed me her latest wedding cake she just finished.....it was to die for.....3 layers and covered in edible daisies. it was simply exquisite.... To say i am proud of her is an understatement.
Jenni is one of the most talented women i've ever met in my lifetime. she puts 200% in everything she does and it shows for sure. her life is successful and her business follows suit. they struggle financially bc opening a new business in a small town area is difficult the first couple years but she is a huge success......her talents are known far and wide and the local papers have done several articles on them......i keep telling her i'm going to contact the food network to get a segment for them...... paula dean.............MOVE OVER......THERES A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN....AND HER NAME IS JENNI....
