I just finished watching a movie called "Catch a Fire". It was a true story of Patrick Chamusso....a man from South Africa that had been falsely arrested and tortured. He was held prisoner for months and finally to try to get him to confess to the trumped up charges of terrorism they arrest and torture and rape his wife. He then confesses to the charges but the police realize hes lying. He and his wife are then released but their lives are literally destroyed.
Patrick then decides to join the anti-apartheid revolution. He wants to fight for the good of South Africa and becomes a revolutionary. In the end he is caught and sent to prison for many years. The movie follows him and tells how he is finally released after many years.
At the end of the movie it showed the real Patrick Chamusso and he explains he is now living with his new wife and three children along with 80 orphans from the Apartheid. He shows off the house he lives in and explains that it doesn't belong to him but to the 80 orphans. They are the real heroes he goes on to say.
This movie is so good and shows the troubles that are still a part of South Africa in some areas. I think we are fortunate to live in a country with little or none of that. How good it is to step out of my house and not worry someone is going to arrest me. That the color of my skin doesn't make others wince when they see me. I so wish this world was different. Why can't we all just enjoy our own lives and let others have that same opportunity? When will we ever learn? I hope and pray that someday we all learn to love one another and just get along. There would be no wars....no crime.....no aparthied.....Am I living in reality? Absolutely not....Am I living in a dream? Absolutely I am....but what a dream it would be......Silly little post but its a great idea in theory.

Hey Kaz.... sounds like a deeply moving movie. I agree wouldn't it be nice to live without strangers, live without fears. :)

Kel, Hey baby.....I got to thinking after I saw this film how it would be so nice to 'see' everyone by their goodness, compassion, heart and soul..And not by their skin color, religion, sexual orientation....those things are moot to me. I don't care about those things...only what comes from within...thats whats important. If only we could all 'see' that....
