 A FINAL GOODBYE!
Today I had lunch with someone I actually met online and we realized we lived fairly close together. We have a lot in common and it was nice to meet them. We exchanged numbers and had a nice lunch and just talked like we'd known each other for a long time. What a refreshing change of pace for me. Funny how we can be in the same area and it takes an internet site to finally find them....What are the chances? One in a million?
I enjoyed their company at Scotties tribute and we have become pretty good friends. It's nice.
Today was a hard day for me. A friend of mine has been ill with lung cancer and yesterday decided to leave the hospital and come home to die. He didn't want to be surrounded by strangers, machines and noise. He came home yesterday afternoon and died this morning at 5:55 a.m. with those that loved him the most. I was at odds all day and it was nice to share those feelings with someone that cared about how I was feeling. This man was so wonderful and so good. I again couldn't understand how a just God could take someone so caring and leave ppl like Satan/spouse here on earth. Will I ever understand? Will I ever come to grips with my life and what life had to offer? I am so confused about things sometimes its all I can do to keep going. But I will just think for now that God needed an extra angel up there and brought him home to say his final good byes. Good bye friend....chin up and be happy.
On to another subject.....I had planned a trip this summer in July. I had changed my plans three times and finally actually booked my flight and planned the actual trip. I was excited and looking forward to it a lot. Something happened recently that made the trip moot. It wasn't going to happen and I think in my heart I knew that all along. I took the ticket and cashed it in and went to Wal Mart and bought something I have been wanting for a long time. I had to just spend the money bc I knew if I didn't I would rebook the flight and be right back where I started. Needed to spend that cash and I did. I said a goodbye to that part of my life and as bad as it hurt I know it was for the best. Some of the most painful things we have to do are for  the best of everyone involved. The pain will get easier and the lessons we learn will forever be with us. At least its suposed to be that way....
So I am saying welcome to my new friend officially and good bye to an old friend. Strange how things seem to balance out sometimes.....

The following is my Mom's favorite poem for those times she doesn't understand
God's ways or reasons. Thinking of your dear friend who now rests safely in the
arms of Jesus.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew that you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Peace, Prayers & Love To You, Karen

One door closes another opens, there is no rhyme or reason sometimes... but eventually it works itself out.

RIP to your friend .. condolences to you my friend.

I can't say it better than easy - When one door closes another one opens. I think everything happens for some reason, it may just take a long to see the reason. I'm sorry about your friend.

My condolences, K. Saying goodbye is never easy, but I agree with the others. I'm sure there's a reason for the way things are going right now, and sooner or later that reason wil show itself. Hugs super K.

Interesting (and often sad) how ppl come in and out of our lives, sometimes at the same time.

To all who commented....Thank you so much..He was very special to me...more so than even I knew. I will mourn him for a long time. He was one of the most decent men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing....HIS NAME WAS JIM.
