| TABASCO AND THE CHEEKERS TRAGEDY !

TONIGHT i went to my oldest daughter's to celebrate our EAster. she made a wonderful dinner (a sit down no less) and everything was so nice. it looked so wonderful. the grandkids were all there and when i got there (late as usual) i didn't see TABASCO SAUCE for a very long time. he looked at me like "what the fuck?". he really did! i don't think that puppies feet touched the floor 5 min. all night. they carried him in baby blankets and strollers and baskets and u name it he was in it. every time he got to go past me, his little tail wagged and he gave me this "mom, HELP" look. but i was making sure he was fine as was the rest of the adults bc of the cheekers episode......ta dum ta dum ta dum ta dum......... THE CHEEKERS EPISODE: cheekers was a well known and very well loved hamster. (GET THE PICTURE SO FAR?) ok, cheekers had a lot of toys. he had a vw car (absolutely he did) that he could be put in and as he rotated the top of the car it went where ever. it was cool. he also owned a ball that basically did the same thing. his penthouse would make most hamsters jealous as hell. this hamster lived like a fricken king UNTIL ONE DAY...........riley happened by .........ta dum ta dum........now riley is 4 and doesnt' understand a few rules. number one is that just bc a car case and a little hamster are basically the same size it doesn't necessarily mean shit. so here comes his matchbox car carrying case, looks in it and decides to take the said cars and looking at cheekers thinks "well, he can fit into the slots" (which in riley's defense cheekers could fit). the clincher was cheekers didn't like to stay in one place long and while riley was closing the case cheekers decided to move from one slot to the next. thats right ....................crunch city on poor cheekers. when after an hour no one could find said hamster, jen (my daughter) went looking for riley and riley told her cheekers was asleep in the car case. my daughter being the wise woman she is decided to peek into the car case and of course found the little corpse of cheekers the former hamster extroidinaire! he was definitely the former hamster. now they had to tell this 4 yr. old that the hamster went to hamster heaven to the happy hunting grounds of hamsters. MORAL TO THE STORY? DON'T LET HAMSTERS AND 4 YR OLDS TOGETHER ALONE! thus the reason for all available adults tonight watching like a hawk the adventures of TABASCO SAUCE. he lived through the nite but hasn't left my side since. so u think he was truamatized? oh no, a doggy therapist? i do think he heard the rumor of cheekers. he seemed a little distant on the way home. what have i done to him? first he loses his daddy and now the thought of possible distinction by the terrible car case. poor baby!
what else happened?? oh, the butterfly kisses! i taught my kids and grandkids all about butterfly kisses a long time ago. its like the century old eskimo kiss where u tweek noses. i got so many tonight and loved each and every one. my daughter told me when i'm there u would think a celebrity was there. the kids will not let me alone. it's "grandma watch this" and "gran watch that" and "me first gram" and " my turn gran". its great!
the reason i'm telling u this is bc for the first time in a week i felt clean and ok with me. i didn't feel like a terrible person. i didn't feel like a freak or screw up. there was no name calling. there was only smiles and happy faces and laughter and plenty of butterfly kisses. peace and harmony |

Aww poor cheekers...Hope riley is doing okay...I had that happen to a kitten when my youngest was 2. He put the kitten in the cupboard and didn't tell us, and sure enough three days later, the stink is what gave it away..Needless to say, I had to wash all the dishes in there about 6 or 7 times to get the smell out...Yuck....

nubian riley still hasn't grasped the thing of death. he is 4 and death doesn't mean a lot when ur that age. but he knows cheekers is in a place called heaven with scottie.

hollis, this happened to my daughter stephie. when she was 4 she was holding a kitten in her arms and of course i noticed that the kittens tongue was sort of hanging out and sure enough she had hugged it to death. her siblings kept calling her the "cat killer". it was so sad and funny at the same time. riley says cheekers is with scottie in heaven and u know what? i'll bet he is. what a nice thought when i think about it.
