Your grandma seems to be a sweet caring lady who will give of herself to others no matter the cost. It probably bugs her that the mother is incapable of raising her own child and is forcing the burden on her, but she is looking out for the best interets of the boy. She is putting her own wants and needs aside to help someone find love in a world that seems to be without love. She is offering the boy a very special kind of comfort and care.
