 Chapter 4!
Chapter 4!

The nest morning, I woke up five minutes before my alarm clock. So I got up and took a shower, it was very cold at first the water took a while to heat up. I eventually got out and put some gel in my hair, so that the curls would stay all day long. Then I just put a clip in my hair as well and pulled my bangs out of my eyes, and then I went to my room and got dressed. When I was done, I went downstairs to get myself breakfast. The one thing I wasn’t expecting was my mom to be up this early. After I got myself a bowl of cereal, she told me the rule of the house. Which they were way different compared to the rules at my dad’s. For one, she said I didn’t have a curfew and another one that caught me off guard, was when mentioned me getting a boyfriend, she said I could hang out with him in my room if I wanted to. I knew my father would have a field day with this, but I had a feeling I wasn’t going to tell him. Another thing I didn’t know about my mom was that she had a job at being a home care nurse, so on some nights she would be working later than others. I guess you could say another score for me, at least when I made new friends, or even when or if I ever managed to get myself a boyfriend.
So after this little talk, I went up and brushed my teeth. When I was done I started looking at my complexion, and I noticed finally how dark the circles under my eyes had become. I wanted something more to make my skin look healthier, but I didn’t know that much about make-up. That was another down side to having a father for parent and no woman figure in my life. But just as I was about to leave the bathroom my mom walked in, and she asked me “Hey are you going to wear any make-up today?” I blushed and said “No, I don’t even know how to put it on.” She giggled and said, “I should have known being raised by a man and all, he wouldn’t know anything about that stuff, I’ll show you don’t worry.” So for the next fifteen minutes, she showed me how to apply make-up in the correct way.
By the time I left the house, nervous butterflies had started up in my stomach. I had no problems finding the school, as I pulled into the school I looked around to see if other students were there, of course they were. So I pulled into the parking lot in front of the building, and walked up the front walk to the office. When I walked into the office, I walked straight up to the receptionist desk. Then she looked up and smiled at me and asked “Can I help you?” and I replied “Yes I’m a new student here, my name is Elizabeth Newton. Her smile widened “Of course” she said. Then she left from behind her desk, and went to a bookshelf behind me, and ruffled through some papers until she found a large packet. Then she went behind her desk again, and handed me the packet. As she did she said, “Here’s your schedule, locker combination and a map of the school. I hope you have an awesome first day here”. I smiled back and said “ I will, or at least I’ll try.”
