Summer is the season of the heart, fire element and emotion of joy. During this time of
the year we are enjoying the beautiful outdoors and having fun in the sun, so we must
take some time to prevent summer’s fire from overtaking us.
One of the best cures for excessive heat is water, but make sure you drink at room
temperature, since cold beverages and foods can cause sudden contraction and
tightening preventing heat from leaving the your body. Take time between 11 am and
1 pm, when the sun is at it’s highest, to rest and take a break since this the time of the
day that are fire energy is at its peak.
A simple Tea Ritual with help ease excessive heat during the summer, try Peppermint,
Chamomile, Green Tea, or Raspberry, which all have astringent properties making
them naturally cooling. Also a great way to enjoy the summer heat and calm your skin
and body from sun overexposure would be to try a Chamomile Sun Soother Compress:
use 3 drops of German Chamomile essential oil, 2 drops of Lavender essential oil, 1
sprig peppermint leaves gently bruised. Prepare a cold compress by adding the essen-
tial oils and peppermint leaves to a small bowl of ice water. Dip a wash cloth into the
bowl, wring out, and apply to affected areas of your body.
Summer is a time to renew ourselves with the solar power of the sun and a season of
good times, so remember to keep your fire element balanced with water inside and out
and enjoy this wonderful time of the year. |

Very informative, thank you. I'm making note of your suggestions. I live in Texas and experience the same heat issues as you in Arizona.
