 Hollywood Movie Reviews

The movie ‘Vantage Point’ is about an incident that takes place during a major world event to fight against terrorism. The President of the United States (played by William Hurt) assembles a massive alliance of world leaders, to fight against global terrorism. In a huge outdoor press conference in Spain with the leaders in front of cheering crowds suddenly a gun shots rings out and the president goes down. After that sound, explosions echo with a blast, which is shown several times in the movie. The film worked due to its concept. The storyline has problem as the whole movie revolves around the assassination. Another big problem is that too many extraneous characters are added unnecessary.

The movie seems well researched because the portrayal of the security protocol was pretty authentic. The performance of Dennis Quaid (secret service chief to the president of US) and Eduardo Noriega (undercover Spanish cop) is good, while other characters are average.

To conclude it is a mediocre story narrated in an interesting way and due to its seriousness and action the movie has captured the viewers. It failed to fulfill as a thriller movie due to its storyline.

Rambo after twenty years it’s now the fourth installment of everybody’s favorite Vietnam vet with post traumatic stress disorder is back…Yes Rambo hitting theatres after 20 years with Avi Lerner, Kevin King and John Thompson co-producer the film, scripted and directed by Sylvester Stallone and he is also in the title role.

So will the first sight of John J. Rambo after two decades will prove similarly rewarding?
But what worked for the beloved underdog does the one-man killing machine no favors. What remain are a lot of hyper-realistic, brutal violence; snatches of banal dialogue; and all the escalating dramatic tension of a video game. So in short No. 4 is one big snore!!! “Rambo” stands as a worldwide phenomenon with its 11 executive producers who are pleased with those final tallies.
Other trite character in the Stallone- and Art Monterastelli- scripts are not that lucky and this makes it easier not to become emotionally invested when a good portion of them are beheaded to bits by the intense, bloody violence. If you consider from the audience point of view you wish Stallone had instead headed in the other direction pulling out all stops and going out a blaze of glory. Stallone is intent on showing the thoughtful, vulnerable man behind the legend, stripping him of most of that showy '80s gear (but allowing him to keep his shirt on) and ending on a sun-drenched, silly post during which a weary Rambo discovers that you can go home again.

Semi Pro is a comedy movie primarily aimed at teenage audience. The main role in the movie is Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell) who is a coach, player and owner of the basketball team ‘Flint Tropics’. His only aim is to guide his team to glory inorder to stay in the league. The climax of the movie is predictable and there are some humorous moments where Jackie Moon performs stunts such as fighting with a bear, which attracts audience. Some of the stunts are tedious to perform, even though they seemed to be hilarious. The direction is OK but the script did not work well. The story really has nothing to say but as people love Will Ferrell who himself is a funny person the movie may go well. The movie lacks inspiration and it does not have any strong characters. Ultimately the movie is certainly not good as Will Ferrell’s other films.
