It is always flattering to know that a person likes you for your style/personality/whatever. But what makes a person want to morph into another version of you? Is it easier than finding your own true self?
This scenario involves two key players: My office BFF, Mandie and A-Zon woman. A-Zon has long copied everything Mandie does, including wearing braids on Mandie's "braid day". Last night I cut 10 1/2 inches off Mandie's hair. Today at work what was A-Zon's reaction? She actually said to Mandie, "you have given me the strength to cut my hair". *shudder*
Creepy, creepy, just plain creepy. Poor Mandie. I don't envy the position she is in, but I do have to wonder-how do you handle a person like that? Mandie already pretty much completely ignores her and only answers her questions with yes or no. What more can be done without just feeding this psycho's obsession?
PS: OLP, hope you enjoyed your daily dose of office gossip.

I had a friend like this once at work, I bought a new fridge he had to have the same one. I found nice shirt on sale at goodies or something he had to go get the same one. New gym... poof there he is. So I thought long and hard how to get him away without hurting him real bad or even makking myself seem like a total ass. It was kinda mean, but I started talking about how cool someone else was, I would stuf like, "Man Frank got this awesome TV the other day from Buy for less.", " I heard Frank talking a little while ago and he told the funniest joke." ,"Man you see the pics of Franks new house."
Now mind you I would only say this stuff to him lol otherwise you look like a stalker, or like I was pitching for the other team. After about a week, lol Frank had a new friend and I was free. Poor guy, I felt bad for him.

OMG!!! It's already hard enough for one to find ways to set themselves apart from the crowd. I had the same thing happen to me when I was in Highschool. It was my goal to be different and I had a style that was all my own, not to mention, it got me a lot of compliments and attention. Well, I soon found that I had an unasked for new bestfriend that wanted to know where I shopped, how I did my hair, and even what kind of perfume I wore.... It was scary, and I was pissed off. I finally gathered up the nerve to ask her why she wanted to be like me. When she didn't give me a good answer, I just told her to stop trying to be someone else, and to find her own identity. Some times you just have to blunt.

LG...lol thanks I feel special now. But, that is very creepy. Just as long as she doesn't turn into that movie. 'Single white female'...best of luck...What does Mandie, think of it?...

We have a great parking lot to bury A-Zon lady.
I will giggle gleefully when I run over her speed hump

Just take it as a compliment, but don't encourage it. She must have issues to not know herself...sad really...and sandles with socks,,,is that not cute? I do that all the time?!
