So I was just checking out MSNBC.com and CNN.com for my daily dose of news and was hit smack in the face with the case of the fatal fetal snatching. Well, now, says defense attorneys-childhood abuse likely killed this horrible persons soul. Grow up, own your mistakes and stop making it so easy for people to keep f*cking things up just because they didn't live in that house with a white picket fence.
Well, newsflash people, I grew up with a junky/alcoholic father who beat on me and my mother every single day. I have been emotionally, verbally, sexually and physically abused. But, guess what? Following that pattern is a choice. You have just as much control over yourself as I do over myself. I am so sick of people clinging to the fact that they had it "hard" and hiding behind that whenever they feel like doing something wrong.
If we, as a society, keep letting people hide behind their pasts soon this world will be filled with even more chaos and hate than it already has. And frankly, I think I've seen about enough. Being abused does not give you a right to be an abuser,go and be bigger than that.

That saddens me and sickens me totally to know that this happens.
What's worse is that happens more than the news lets on. I was sexually abused - that doesn't mean it gives me an excuse to do the same.
I CHOSE to be bigger than my problems, I CHOSE to live, I CHOSE BETTER for myself, and I'm glad to see that you did too.

I was thinking of posting a blog on this case as well. I can't believe her lawyers tried to use her abuse as an excuse for killing that poor woman and stealing her baby.
