I applied for a job with the Medical Examiner's office. That would be right up my morbid little alley. Not that I'm really that morbid, just used to working around "death". Right now I work with probate-all the crap your property has to go through when you die. I like it. It's pretty independent work. Really ready to move on, get a new job away from the yelling boss (see yesterday's blog).
Went to my office bff's house after work last night. Good times. Had margaritas and spent the night talking about stupid love, great love and what we want out of life. We even busted out her old Ouija board. Interesting, amusing. I'm spiritual, but not totally convinced that there was some spook pushing a hunk of plastic around.
It is another ugly day here in the Northwoods. So much rain and so little sun. Reminds me of seeing the news this morning about the tornados that ruined Oktoberfest in Oklahoma(?). It showed the tents all blown over and a mess. Everyone acting so shocked that those tents didn't hold up worth a damn in the face of the tornados. Now, really. Are we that naive to think that a piece of canvas can honestly be expected to give us reliable shelter from the wrath of nature? Give me a break.
