why aren't we ever happy? humans in genereal are never satisfied. its more more more, or i need this or that and then i will be happy. why cant we be happy? because whenever we do get this or that, we STILL are not happy. we bore too easily. i find it sad that we are so materialistic and fall so easily for the newest trendiest phones with full keyboards and 600 dollar Dior purses... do we really need a keyboard on your phone? are we getting that lazy? and a purse is to hold your keys, why in the world would you pay 600 dolllars for something to hold stuff in. for your image? what does that do for your image? show that you too can waste your money on something you don't need? or does it boost your self esteem knowing that you can follow everyone else in a trend that will change in two months, leaving your brand new 600 dollar Dior purse old, unfashionable and now a shame to your wardrobe. this sounds cynical, but is it not true?
im not saying im not guilty, i buy stuff i dont need or dont use all the time. not anything expensive, but just the other day i bought some soy milk becuase i want to start eating healthy. but i didnt touch it becuase when i got home, i couldnt stand the thought of fake milk. i wasted money and food... for shame...
and i was looking in a drug store today for something to drink. and you know what? i got so confused about what i should get. there was about 100 choices in a drug store of what to drink. why is that? why do we need so much variety?
and valentines day is coming up. how materialized is that holiday? cards, chocolates, jewlery, flowers, dinner, wine... a guy pretty much needs at least one of each for a successful v-day in the minds of a present day woman. again- guilty as charged. i dont want one of the maybe 6 people who actually read this to get offended. we are all guilty.
the american dollar has next to no value right now. why does it matter how many we have? or what we waste it on? it ruins people. i work at petsmart, and do you know what the average transaction is? about 50 dollars. on peoples PETS. people buy these 7 foot pillars for their cats, and gold plated collars for their dogs... we even have to keep our pets materialistic...
why are humans so swept up in things and celebrities and porn and drugs and alcohol... why are we so f*ed up? what happened to our morals?
why are we so into tv and video games and all that jazz when there is a whole world to see? there are so many more worthwhile things to be doing then texting somebody on a phone with a fullblown QWERTY keyboard.
travel, pick up a hobby, do yoga, read, write, expand your mind, take a class, take a walk with your mom, hike a mountain, clean the house, organize your closet, play an old time favorite sport, watch the discovery channel- all of those are beneficial but how often do we do them? even me sitting here writing this is wasting my precious lifetime.
i feel lame now so i think maybe ill attempt to sleep. again
