I am a proud Kanaka Maoli!  We face many trials ON our land.  A land that the US government discovered... AFTER-!  Can we remember this word??? AFTER!!  After the natives of the Sandwich Islands inhabited BEFORE the haole man come.  Can we remember that word too!  Hawaiians BEFORE haole man... haole man AFTER Hawaiians!  
We aloha those came to the islands with open arms... that's where we went wrong.  A culture that worked for a group of people... as it is in China, Japan, Africa, and even United States!  Foreigners come with destruction, introduced a lot of foreign objects, disesases, and alcohol.  Deminish the population of the Hawaiian people, and "allow" a group of missionaries to come and clean up the mess of the "other haole" to had eventually join forces with the rest of the American government.
I am proud, and I am strong!  I remember where I came from and I know who I am.  I am Kanaka Maoli and I believe God will help me live. 
I praise God for all the awesome blessings I've received.  And many Kanaka Maoli forget who they are and our nation becomes vulnerable for the haole man to take over.  Let's stop and think about what to do about our feelings... the past is the past and we can learn from it.  Let's talk about what we can do... not what we should have done... Let's look forward and produce positive vibrations!
