Post one question you have about analyzing poetry using the 6 steps I gave you. It can be poem specific, step specific or something you are unclear about the process as a whole. Then find one or more of your classmates’ questions that you know the answer to and reply to their question. Start your reply with their name so that they are able to find it easily.

initial response is your thoughts on the song or poem and a summary is basically what the song or poem is saaying to you and what the meaning of it is.

The initial response is confusing because I don't know all of the context that needs to be in your response. All the other stuff is easy!

Allison I think that you should just show that you know what they mean. Just put up maybe one word or so and define/ clarify it or any phrase/sentence in the poem.

katie the theme is the topic sentence because it is a short summary of the poem and it is one of the most important parts of a poem

I'm not quite sure the about the differnce between teh inital response adn the summary. They seem kind of like the same thing to me. I understand that one is about the whole story and one isnt but i still dont quite understand it fully.

How do you really find the exact poetic device of certain setences? A few of the metaphors appear to be very complicated.
