i just want to make a small addition (with numerous spelling errors)...
I have really started seeing math in all nooks and crannies of my classroom. I realized how valualbe calendar time is and, in fact, vividly remembr this time in my own kindergarten class. During calendar time the students count, do patterns, skip count, answer difinitive number questions, count money, count on from different numbers... stop me if you've heard enough. we also have a weather graph! every month is posted over the old month and I love this idea simply because it gives students perspective. our class even takes flouride at this time, and estimation has been a part of that since day one. hooray calendar!
