 ticking clock
whats with the time schedule going around in life? why does society limit out abilities and capabilities to these small windows in time and if we don't accomplish these events in a certain timely manner we are destined for failure. if we don't succeed promptly then we'll never succeed at all.
i graduated high school at the age of sixteen. i went to college soon after and dropped out within two yearof arriving. i started going again a year or so later and then dropped out again.
i wasn't meant to go to college.
maybe i never will be.
or maybe i should wait a few more years until i feel that the time is right and i am fully committed to the concept of completing my education.
why do i have to do it now?
if i have a job that pays the bills why is it so necessary that i have a job that is exaxctly what i am suited for? why are we all so career obsessed that we feel the need to get the whole degree in order to get the perfect job? my personal life is what makes me happy...my job is what i do to afford myself in order to enjoy the rest of my life.
maybe oneday i'll write that book.
or write something at all.
but until then i am happy and content and no amount of badly timed education is going to change that.
all in good time.
i'm tired of being told that if i don't get things done on the schedule that society has taught me i am supposed to, then i am a failure.
i am not. no one is.
things will happen we the are meant to happen,
life is short enough without adding guilt to strip my years of the enjoyment of being alive.

I'm going to be 29 this fall when I start my 2 year diploma program. I admit I feel a little embarassed and will probably feel awkward around all the young students there but I also think that, by waiting as long as I have, I have learned things about myself that will make me a better student.

If you enjoy going to college you should. You shouldn't force anything. You will know what is right for you and when.
