 sea legs

to onward journey we go
a ship in a fleet bound for places unknown
we've never been mild or meek in our manner
worn neon red lights and blood is our banner
we sail until water is all we can see
until rowers so burdened are all we can be
straining our eyes in hopes of shoreline
in ports we can rest weary boats for a time
what fuels our search we have yet to discover
what floats in our mind's is the face of another
we'll hunt down the dawn in an endless of chase
to fight for our freedom from memories we hate
to evoke in this time faith in beauty around
to regain our sea legs and stand on shifting ground
this quest may be endless and void of all hope
we'll pull up to anchor and find naught but the end of our rope
but burden we onwards and heedless of time
for all we've lost on this journey once again we will find.

I hope there will be an end to our journeys and that there is always hope.

sometimes i think that i am more of a sylvia plath type of writer..its not that i spend so much time depressed, but when i am i draw inspiration from it and find the hopeful end to my journey in writing a piece like this. thats more what this poem was about...all my journeys, big and small, end somewhere when i can finally get it out of my system and draw a conclusion.
