blogging redefined.
it may seem like a sad state of affairs to end up searching the internet for that elusive resting place. heart, home, friend, true and false alike, can all be sought out in this forum. while in a more "reality" based enviroment all we see is closed doors and backs turned, in this world of blogging we are what goes on behind those doors and these screens are what we face when we turn our backs to the rest of the world.
because the world is cold and cloaked in misunderstanding, what we percieve is rejection might be someone fearfully hesitating. and those opinions that we allow to hurt us so deeply may just be misunderstood reasoning. to look someone in the eye is too much for many of us to bear, so to take it a step further and tell those prying eyes something personal and possibly none too flattering? for many of us thats a shot in hell we aren't willing to take.
for others on these sites who are able to embrace the fears and the beauty of life without pause, kudos and congratulations. i wish i was more like you, with deep connections between you and "real" people who function alongside you when the computer screen goes blank. i admire your ability to put your heart on the line daily and not make excuses as to why that isn't worthwhile.
but for those of us who aren't quite so able, not for lack of something to share, but for other reasons have an inability to connect, we live here. we live and love and survive behind those closed doors and find our acceptance in a new form. blogging redefined not just to put ourselves out there, but to share and to be heard. there is something beautiful and raw about this community of millions and i am proud to be a part of it. i am elated to see the remarks on these thoughts that i dream inside my head but never say out loud to anyone. my silent voice is heard here, and possibly expressed in a way simple speech may never have afforded me.
this world is our opportunity, yours and mine, to follow dark and mysterious trails, to follow logic and debate our views and opinions, and to find that we can be affirmed by someone we may have never even met.
