never again
I knew what I had done
As soon as the door closed
I knew today was the one
But my thoughts were so composed
I knew the chance I was taking
I knew the risks and price
Knew the choice I was making
My plan was so precise.
I beckoned them to come
As I noticed the empty spaces
My mind was coming undone
I saw the fear on their little faces
I reached for them
As I said a faithless prayer
Now praying faith from fear would stem
Heading for the door we were nearly there
I knew what I had done
As soon as the door closed
I knew that he would follow
But I knew where we would go
Never again would we fear him
Never again would we cry because of him
Never again would he control us
Never again would we depend on him
Never again would we wonder
Never again would we cower
Never again would he mindlessly thunder
Crushing our lives with his hateful power
We were free!
I knew what I had done
As soon as the door closed
I knew that I had freed us.
