Outside the theatre:

KURUVI was released yesterday in Malaysia and that was the first time in two years i saw the Houseful in the theatre complex.Actually we managed to get hold of seat at the front even though we made our decision to watch the movie at the 11th Hour.The cine room can accomodate 208 seats.I would say that malaysian audience weree quite disciplined in a way that there was no whistle or any kind of noise from them at any point of time of the movie.

Everybody is aware that mass heroes has a success formula with them and they make sure those goodwill elements are carried over in their new films.Vijay is no different from this and infact he is the only hero in tamil industry who likes to squeeze his entire successful film into his new film.Gilli's team ( Vijay, Trisha, Dharani Vidhya Sagar) has joined together for this new film KURUVI but with the same old story ofcourse with minor modifications to make the audience and certification groups believe it is yet an another new film.

At the outlook:

Movie has four folk songs for vijay fans and one melody song for vidhyasagar fans which were penned by P.Vijay. One of the folk song “ mozhu mozhunu “ created controvery beacuse referring to social activist.So writers should careful in their delivery as these days songs are written for money and not for music.Most of the songs are shoot in famous beaches around Malaysia.All the initial “catch me if you can” scenes are shoot around Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian Tamil is unique in a way they speak.So projecting trisha,saranya and suman as malysian tamilians, effort should have been taken by darani in dialogue writing and pronounciation and voice modulation from the fore mentioned characters.Only subtle difference in dialogue delivery between tamilians characters and malaysian characters are the later end their dialogues with la,which is commonly used by malysian and singaporeans irrespective of race.Vivek 's comedy is clearly on diminishing side mainly due to his invariant voice modulation.Malavika comes as an item in guest role. Veteran character artist Nasser's entry at the end of the climax as an CBI officer is notable.Vijay' s dancing skills is already proven but he has improved his stunt skills in this film which is appreciatable. Surpisingly no repeating punch dialogues from the hero except a phrase of “ kuruvi kuruvi varaaaaaaan, kuruvi kuruvi parakiraaaaaaaaan”

during fight scenes.Ofcourse lot of TR style dialogues are there in this movie to satisfy the vijay fans.Important thing is BGM is throughout the movie for vijay's actions/reactions. So be careful to select your seat as there is a definite chance of coming out of the movie with a headache.Dilution of vivek's comdey may be due to the hero's comical actions .

Into the movie:

Kuruvi is introduced as an area car racer who's father,Manivannan is a polygamy with many daughters.

Vivek is kuruvi's best friend.Manivannan is in debt of 50,00,000 to a local money lender and gone arrested as slave by a so called Malaysian basha.The reason being manivannan is a honest person who wants to inform government of the diamond found in kadapa,AP under granite stones.On pressure from money lender to vacate the home,Vijay goes to Malaysia as a kuruvi ( person who carries goods inside and outside of his country) along with vivek in search of gocha ( Malaysian Basha) due to the later's cheque for his father bounced back.Gocha's daughter is trisha and wife is saranya.Gocha want to marry his daughter to his left hand, a mobster.On New Year eve, Gocha announces his decision to his gathering and trisha is deeply uninterested in this decision.kuruvi after knowing kocha is a leader of mobster in malaysia enters the trisha's emplacement to get his money back.There he gets to understand gocha is doing diamond smuggling business and decides to get hold of his diamond to get back his money. While trying to escape from the edifice with diamond, he meets trisha and his stunts admires trisha and love starts as usual and trisha is happy finding her soulmate.Next happens the series of events which decides whether vijay clutches his trisha and punishes gocha and his subordinates to rescue his father and the rest of the families.

BOTTOMLINE - Gilli's flour is ground once more and given to audience.Great movie for vijay fans and one more award winning performance for vijay and reused malasa for me
