| Volleyball is No Piece of Cake
|
|
|
Well..at least not for me. Volleyball isn't so hard, but yet, not very easy.
Volleyball camp started on Monday. Today is Tuesday [as i type].
I am sore.
sore.
sore.
sore.
Hurts when I sit and stand.
My fellow campers say the same. ohh the pain.
but then... there is the saying;
"no pain, no gain."
I'm getting better though.
No volleyball experience.
Came to camp in navy blue girl's basketball shorts. Black Vans Sneakers(skate shoes?) and a t-shirt.
No booty shorts, or at least [about] three inches from the inseam. No tennis shoes. No knee pads. No water. No loose tees.
I was unprepared.
Physically? I was okay. I was prepared to play and l e a r n.
I learned; by watching others.
The coaches didn't teach.
"Pepper with your partner." --coach.
What's a pepper? I asked a helper (high students already on the team) and she explained.
I'm learning how to spike, serve and do footwork the correct way now.
I absolutly love volleyball.
But a sophmore was talking to the girls about trying out.
She said that 96 freshmens tried out for volleyball.
Because there were so many, most of them were cut because of height.
She was cut because of her height.
So what? She's taller than me.
I can set, pass and serve [sometimes].
I haven't tried spiking yet....when actually playing a game.
I just need more practice.
-sigh-
My arm hurts. xD Not that bad. There is a little pain though. =]]
