Sexual Education these days absolutely disturbs me. I was watching a movie recently that everyone needs to watch, Kids in America, and it got me to thinking that I don't remember any actual sexual education at my school. I KNOW you've seen all of those movies with the akward condom on a banana scene... Well, there was none of that.
I don't believe that a new computer center is worth my future child's sexual education. Don't get me wrong most schools are in dire need of money anyway that they can, but the government has to put mandates and grants into other things. That's right boys and girls, abstinence only schools get money from the government. Hmmm... the government rewarding schools that only teach religious values... Whatever happened to seperation of church and state?!
Using a condom isn't rocket science, okay? There are even directions on the package. If you can read, then you can use a condom. Girls, go to the free clinic and get some birth control. I believe that you don't have to have a parents permission to recieve birth control. How many people out there know about diaphragms though? How many people know that you can get an STD through oral sex?
So many people think that oral sex isn't real sex because (for the most part) it's not spoken of and does not seem to forge the emotional ties that sexual intercourse does. Aside from not having to deal with the threat of pregnancy, it is just as dangerous as "real" sex.
I'm not here to preach though, to each his own! I just believe that if we had an information source other than our friends, tv, movies, and the internet then maybe, just maybe we'd have less teenage pregnancies. Maybe one less girl would fall for the line "I can't get you pregnant" or "Don't worry, I'll pull out in time. Oops, I'm not usually that quick." Or not. After all, teenagers and young adults are buzzing full of hormones, and we're frisky by nature.
TEACH us. Let us know that it's not too late, it's not the end of the road if we get pregnant. By informing us, you are at least trying to help young adults make safe decisions rather than just saying, "Don't do it!" and ignoring the problem. I commend all those that are virgins and all those that are hump happy and safe.
Fuck. Be Happy. Be Safe.
OneLove.

Yer a lil "old" to be screaming "teach us" and young to be worrying about children learning.
Now that you have me thinking...didn't spell receive right...oral sex and condoms:P Hmm. Now that's one thing they don't have protection for:P I think of the anime I have seen where oral sex was either shown or suggested...and I think "where is the grim reality?" Sores? Crabs? Herpes? Some other sort of injury or unpleasantry? It's like toon sex is totally safe. Do whatever the heck you want. [Don't ask me why I watched it. It wasn't mentioned on the packaging:P]
I think before we worry about sex ed specifically, we have to break the communication between generations barriers. You may have heard of child-raising specialists who suggest we talk to babies like we would normal adults--no more "googly" talk--to help them progress normally. Teens are so difficult for parents to deal with because everyone wants to be the independent adult with the right of way. Just like cracking language barriers between nations, we have to solve this age problem without throwing kids on the street. Do that, and the sex talk will come much easier and with less interference. But, I think everyone should be wise to their instincts and family wisdom--not just their hormones. But, how do people learn? Mostly by experience. And, that is what so many get anyway...sexual experience. You can't tell how a camera works til you try to use it. So, I guess the same goes with sex. Perhaps that young guy with a mouth full of sores will be a good speaker on the matter:P Maybe he can do a commercial like those actors.
