I remeber the time when my father talked about Beijing. The place was sordid and people were living in abject poverty. "It's hard to imagine that people actually call this place home." ,he said pointing at the photograph. I had seen the decrepit houses in the picture, a panorama of filth and unimaginable living conditions, and it made me think if those people living there are humans or animals.
It's different now. This country has truly florished. Beijing, being the capital, has already adapted and has now become a cosmopolitan city. The Forbidden Palace speaks for its ancient culture, Shi San Ling offers a deeper look at China's past along with numerous artifacts scattered around this huge city. To finish the picture, China also wanted the world's eyes focused on it modern wonders. The Three Gorge Dam is first on the list. It has cut back electrical setbacks brought about by China's big populace and has helped the country gain a steady supply of one of the world's most important resource. The others are to obvious, to the point that it precludes the need of mentioning it. If you have watched the olympics and are watching the paralympics, you should know that I was pertaining to the Bird's Nest, the Bird's Egg and the Water Cube.
As I look at China and the new and old things she can offer to the world, I find it hard to believe what I had seen in the photograph and now Shanghai, another modern city of China near the ocean, just made it harder by aspiring to build the highest skyscraper in the world. Go China!

Like you have asked, I woud like to point something out to you, and I hope that I do not offend you in any way.
In the ablve blog, the second paragraph, you wrote ".....If you have watched the olympics and is watching....." It should read .......olympics and are watching..... Hope that helps a little.
