 It's about time
First blog, and I want to make it memorable.

Topic:  Since God is a God of Love, He MUST Hate.

This statement is not a contradiction, but a fuller defination of who God is, in reguards to His Love.  For example, if you love Children, you hate pedofiles, abortions, abuse of childern, etc.  If you love Jesus, you hate it when people use His name loosely or blaphemously.  In the same way, since God loves Holiness, He must by nature hate that which is unholy.

There are scriptures that I will post when I get time to add as a foundation for this statement in the near future.

----------------------------------
Scripture References:

When I mention hate, it is a righteous hatred, not something that comes from irrational, irreconsilable feelings.

God created the institution of marriage to be an example of the relationship between Christ and His Bride, the Church (Eph. 5:22-33), therefore God hates divorse (Malachi 2:16).

God created life, and gives life (Gen 2), therefore He hates murder (Ex. 20:13; Prov 8:36).

Deut 7:26 "And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it. You shall utterly hate it, and you shall utterly despise it. For it is a cursed thing."  God calls us to hate things that are abominations and to have nothing to do with them.

Psalms 5:5 "The foolish shall not stand in Your sight. You hate all doers of iniquity."  This may be one of the clear verses that refute the saying that God loves the sinner, but hate the sin.  Here God clearly stated that God hates (in a righteous and holy way) those who live like God never gave a law to follow (iniquity).

Psalms 45:7 You love righteousness, and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.

Psalms 105:25" He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants."  God sends hate through others, to His people Israel, inorder to bring them back in a right relationship with Him.

Proverbs 8:13 The fear of God is to hate evil; I hate pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the wicked mouth.

Isaiah 61:8 For I God love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Amos 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of Hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

Zec 8:17 And let each devise no evil in your heart against his neighbor; and love no false oath. For all these are things that I hate, says The LORD.

Rev 2:6 But you have this, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Here were serval verses that I found while looking this subject up in the Bible.  This may be contrary to things that other 'Christians' may say, because they have a perconceived idea the hate is always a bad thing, but when you get back to the Bible, we are to hate what is evil and cling to that which is good.

Maybe next time, I'll do a little word study on the word hate and show what this word means in its original context.

God Bless,
Kelly

I believe that many people, especially in Christian circles would disagree whole-heartedly with your assesment. You may certainly love children and yet not hate pedophiles. You may pity pedophiles, or simply disagree with their choices. You don't necessarily hate anyone or anything.

I disagree with your blog, but I don't hate you. See?

Welcome aboard, by the way. Keep 'em coming.
