LIVING OUR DREAMS
Do we ever stop dreaming of our soul's aspirations?
Do we ever truly give up on our lifetime dream?

Sue Patton Thoele, tells us, The height of wisdom is being willing to live out our dreams, for they are urgings from our souls encouraging us to progress in the way that is right for us.

If we have lost track of our aspirations, those we had in childhood were often the wisdom of our souls telling us what our hearts desired.  As children we are still close to the Source and, therefore, our dreams were very important signposts.  But a child intuitively knows whether her/his aspirations will be heard or denied by her/his family, and, if ours were denied, we may have learned to ignore them and live another person's dreams or let our dreams go altogether.

Right now, very gently, but with total honesty, ask yourself, "Am I trying to live out an unexpressed dream of my parent of other person in my life?"  "Is a child of mine living out a talent that I have not developed?" and "Am I letting dreams lie dormant?"

If you suspect the answers may be yes or you're unsure about what your own dreams are, close your eyes for a moment and allow your mind to roam back to the years when you were a kid.  What did you long to be when you grew up?  Who were your heroines and heros?  What books or TV programs did you relate to?  What dreams have you given up as impractical?  Please listen to the soul-call of your dreams and creatively find ways to bring them to fruition.

Our dreams are what make us unique and special.  They are part of the blueprint of our soul.  We all have the power to make our dreams come true, and become the incredible person we were born to be.

Thanks Ellie,
It's wonderful to hear from you. I am reading a book written by Sue Patton Theole. It's absolutely wonderful! I had to share a bit of what she touched on, because it was so true. I do believe so many of us push our dreams aside because we did not think they were realistic due to a negative response we got as a child. Well it's high time we reclaim those dreams, because I don't think it is ever too late. God put us here as individuals, and our dreams are part of what makes us unique. So it's time we stop letting others take away our soul's individuality.
God Bless You Ellie!!

My dream as a child was to be a writer. I started writing a novel when I was 8 yrs old. I always wrote. But lately I haven't been. I wrote a novel and poured my entire self into it for 2 years or more. After having 2 agents, it was never sold or even seen by a publisher that I know of. I was crushed threw the thing in the back of my closet and vowed to burn it. Now I have no idea where it even is. Ever since then I still write, but not with the same drive and desire I always had. I have 2 novels I work on once in awhile now. I wish I could do it again like I once did. I even pray about it a lot. I enjoy posting on here.

I really enjoyed your post. Maybe I can get back to it.

I also always, ever since I can remember wanted to be Catholic. My dream came true nearly five years ago. It was the happiest day of my life, except for the birth of my daughter, when Father Len baptized me a Catholic. He will always be very special to me. He's a wonderful Priest.

Thanks again for the great post.

Fancie, How wonderful, and CONGRATULATIONS on becoming Catholic!! I am so glad you stuck with it and fulfilled that dream. How wonderful that must feel for you to follow in God's footsteps. :)
If you still aspire to become a writer, I would ask the Lord to help you regroup all your talent and thoughts and give it another try. Following your dreams isn't always a bike ride down hill. :) A lot of times the pedaling will be tough and exhausting, but the rewards will be great in the end. I was telling my daughter tonight, (She has an INCREDIBLE gift for art, her work has been chosen from her school and displayed in several art shows.)that she needs to nourish this gift (besides she LOVES art) because God gave her this talent, and we must not waste the gifts God give us. So
I urge you, if it's your soulds desire to write, try again...and again and again. Don't give up because of a few disappointments, they will make you stronger. Good Luck!!!
God Bless You...and Congratulations Again!
