I'm furious!!! I just got back from my son's highschool. He just got in trouble for reading the bible in the library. Yes...reading the bible. Apparently it is not "appropiate reading material for a public school". Now, a 15 year old boy does not usually read the bible, but we received this strange email the other day about the government trying to turn the United States into a "Northern Union" consisting of Canada, Mexico and the United States with an open border policy. The email was also talking about "a one world currency." It was very long and creepy. Well, I made the comment that it was very much like what the "Book of Revelations" talked about in the Bible.
So my son thought he'd read about it. He took a small hand held bible and stuck it in his backpack and when he had time, he went to the library and started reading it. Well I was called up to the school because he was agruing with the librarian, that he can read whatever he want to as long as it's not "nudey magazines". I HAVE HAD IT WITH ALL THIS CRAP! People need to realize that this is the United States of America, a nation built on Christian principles. If someone doesn't like it, TOUGH... Ignore it!!! I have had it with giving up my rights as a Christian to accomodate the few that are not. No one is telling you that you HAVE to listen or be a part of anything you don't want to do, but stop trying to dictate to me what I can and can't do in my own country!!!
If I want to read the bible in a public school, I will read it!
I am my 5th grade daughter's room mom, and at Christmas time, we were not able to have candy canes at her Christmas party because apparently there is a Christian story behind the candy cane. Good Grief...I'm Christian, and I didn't know about the story. If I want candy canes, I'll bring candy canes. Don't eat them if you have a problem.
I don't go to Afganistan and get all upset and cause problems because the women there wear headdresses, and my opinion is, that is demeaning for a woman to have to cover themselves up like that. But then again, I don't understand their heritage, so I have no right to expect them to change.
I don't go into a Native American Indian Reservation and tell them not to pray to their Great Spirit, and tell them not to have their Sweats, because I do not understand what they are, and how meaningful they are to them. It is their heritage. There natural born right.
Just like being a Christian is my natural born right! I don't have to stop calling it Christmas, or Easter, or bring candy canes to school, or letting my kids read the bible in a public school. If someone has a problem with these things, it's THERE problem. I am not a prejudice person. I honor everyones race, religion, and sexual preference. I mind my own business and try never to judge other. But my rights are being violated by taking my God out of everything I hold true. It is a misjustice and I refuse to tolerate it an longer!

luckyluci, I will NOT let this go...I am fired up over this. It burns my butt to think we are told what we can and can not say and do because it may "offend" someone. WHAT ABOUT OFFENDING THE VAST MAJORITY??? What about our rights??? We have sat around doing nothing long enough while these small few, are screaming "discrimination". It is not discriminating if your are not discluding anyone. It's THEIR choice not to be involved, no one's stopping them or turning them away. But on the same hand, don't tell us we can't live our life displaying our beliefs in our country that was founded on Christianity. Thank you for your comment luckyluci GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Oh my God!!! It's crazy insane and it's pissing me off. We need to do something about this nonsense, if your Son was reading about the war or communism that would be okay, or if he was reading a book on drugs, but holy crap don't read about God.
I would raise the roof at that school.
Hey if you need a hand there, I'm just a hop, skip and a jump away. I'm here for ya!
Peace my friend
Oh yes you are right...war and communism, they do read about in their history books! But God...there is no place for THAT in a public school. I was told, if I believed so strongly about it, I should send him to a private Catholic school. I literally used everything I had not to slap the piss out of her. I told my son to go back to his next class, then I told her that I wanted to see in writing where they do not honor the 1st. Amendment Rights... "The Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion, Assembly and Petition." She just sat there saying nothing. They have so not heard the last of me!! I'm so tired of this crap. I was fed up at Christmas time with the Candy Cane issue. I about came unglued then, but this crossed the line. They don't have anything else to worry about than a young boy reading a bible in the Library. Oh my God, what next, someone might want to say a prayer before a test??? How horrible, what WILL they do??? Thank you Trevorjohn for your support though, I know I can count on you if I need you. You're a sweetheart, and I luv U!
You go girl. It is getting so out of our control these days...Did you know that NOW they want to make SPANISH the number one language in the United States? instead of press 1 for English, it will be Press two....you get out there and fight for your son and all of us............We got your back!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh My Goodness Hollis, No I did not know that! When did we loose our belief in "One nation under GOD"? OUR NATION...The United States of America...NOT the "United States of MIXED Countries"!!! We pride ourselves on our forefathers who came here legally, learned the English language and fought for THIS country because they were proud to be Americans. We have dishonored them by allowing this to go on. It saddens me. But it also infuriates me. It's not over...not by a long shot. God Bless!!
I heard that the "spanish language" request went into goverments hands probably back in june or july. They are voting on it soon........SCARES THE SH@# OUT OF ME............
I agree.
We all have the right to believe and worship in our own way.
It is sickening that people try to control other people.
It goes against our God given free will.
What happened to liberty and justice for ALL?!
