Dedicated to Lastblast
This post is dedicated to my very Dear friend Lastblast. The music was specifically chosen with her in mind, and the following poem came from a book of mine, titled "Stumbling on the Path" written by Dolores Dalh. Tonight after I had read Lastblast's latest post, I was reading this book, and I stumbedacross this poem, and thought of her. I know sometimes it seems like our struggles just never go away, and we question why they always are happening to us... I think maybe we just have to have faith that there is a reason for all things, and it will lead us to our true purpose. I luv U K.
LOOKING BACK TO SEE
The winds are whistling at your back
and biting at your heel, turn 'round.
And look! You've come so very far.
You see My child, you're gaining ground.
These setbacks you're experiencing,
the tears, the moods still hanging on,
don't let them frighten child, you see
it's all a part of growing strong.
It's all a part of letting go.
There really is no easy way
when you are wearing mortal clothes.
Ah, let the piper have his day.
And let the piper play his tune.
Though mournful child, try to comply.
You can't skip over learning time.
You need each one, each tear, each sigh.
The feelings are experience.
You need to feel, if you will know
the way to help another one
who is hurting, groping so.
There is no need to doubt yourself.
Don't call it weakness when you fall.
Don't chastise one who's growing fine,
who's raised herself, who' standing tall.
And if perchance you fall again,
the tears cascading down your cheek,
remember child, they're healing tears,
They're not a sign of growing week.
They're signs of change, another you.
You're climbing to the mountain top.
At every rest, another view.
Refection tears... But you shan't stop.
I feel your doubts, your questionings.
But listen child, I spoke to you
within the heart. My murmurings
were felt and heeded, followed through.
Now rest your heart and calm your fears.
I wouldn't e'er have come so far
if I'd not known the truth of you.
if I'd not known child, who you are.
I wouldn't e'er have shared so much,
revealing words that touched your heart,
revealing words that needed life,
in urging you to do your part.
But child, your work is yet undone.
And I am your replenishing,
reminding you of your design,
your need to stretch those spirit wings.
Now don't look back with fond regret,
or wish that it were otherwise.
Child, you are in your perfect place
right now, this day. Don't compromise.
Don't test the waters of the past
with lingerings, rememberings...
stirring, clouding, your own glass
until you've lost your song to sing.
Your song is waiting, every note.
It waits for you to touch the key.
So play My child, your song to sing.
and know...I am your harmony.
And know for all time and again
that every word, each note you sing,
is always ever, My own voice,
reminding you of promisings.
And every letter on the pad
so faithfully transcribed by you,
is My dictation to My own.
My little lamb, that one is you!
