| A Powerpoint Presentation on Eve Merriam |
|
I enjoy the rain. It distracts me from completing an important project for honors English, and it even seems to help the unintentionally obnoxious voices of fellow classmates slowly drift away.
Usually if I were to stay in school this late on a Tuesday, I would be rather upset, but today is a much better day than yesterday. I do not enjoy passing out in a puddle of my own tears for over fourteen hours and waking up to go to school (I swear that this is not an emo rant blog).
Today at school was nice. I skipped every class to volunteer at the annual blood drive, and it made me want to get a fake ID that said I was seventeen, just so I could donate blood.
Yes, I love blood and especially getting it taken.
No, I am not a vampire, nor do I have (many) mental issues.
Well, I feel inspired to finish my project.
When I go home, I think I may also feel inspired enough to clean the black pit that I call my room so Diann (yes, I call my mother by her first name) can stop bitching about it.
But before I go, I leave you with a new favorite poem.
“Ways of Composing”
By Eve Merriam
typewriter:
a mouthful of teeth chattering
afraid to be quiet
a pencil can lie down and dream
dark and silver silences
