 Breaking the focus on negativity
On reflecting how to have more happiness in my life, I realized that sometimes we become so focused on the difficult or bad things in our daily lives that it blinds us to the little good things that occur each and every day.  By recognizing these good things, life doesn't seem as bad.  In fact, it seems quite a bit better.

To help me see these good things, today's spiritual exercise was "WHAT IS BETTER TODAY THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY?"  My list is:

My allergies were not as bad
My job duties put me in contact with facility employees with whom I enjoy interacting and working
Every day my job consists of wonderful interactions with patients.  Today's patient interactions were off
the chart in the "WONDERFUL" category.
Two previous patients contacted me to let me know how they were doing which is always a rewarding
              experience.
Relief from my "bully" boss -- she left early today and will be gone for 2 days!  Although she left a ton of
projects for me to do,  I will be able to do them at my own pace without her pressuring me.

If I have not done this exercise today, I would have thought today was an average, OK day.  However, I now know I had a terrific day!
