It's been threatening to rain here for the past few days. The weather people keep bracing us for a big, wet week and until today, their promises were going unfurfilled. Today it rained so much that the cricket (Australia vs India ODI) was almost rained out at the Gabba.

It was my nephew's joint birthday party today (one 3 the other 5) and we gave them toys to use in their soon-to- be-built swimming pool. I met some more, I guess you could call them "in-laws" today at the party and wasn't all that impressed with them. One was a professional footballer, nice enough guy, but typical footballer.
The other was a couple with 2 children whose names rhyme....

We went and saw my in-laws house in progress that's 4 weeks off being finished. They're not very impressed with the workmanship so far and the workers even wrote letters to my brother in law telling him not to come onto the site of his own house while they built it. The reason? My brother in-law is a trained architect and can see the crap job they've been doing and they didn't want him saying so.

Tried making arrangements to have L and A over for dinner this week and hinted at my possible career change in an email to her today. I also txt another almost forgotten friend from work who had a baby last year and I'm yet to see it.  

More drawing is on the cards for tomorrow, being rained in and all. Currently finishing the shading on a beetle to go on my b&w animals page. Have also done a sketch of a shark and a pirate boat for a nautical themed flash page.

Rode down to the beach yesterday and the hubby took the dog down there and met me there. He had a good play but disgraced himself in the usual way by splashing the communal water all around.

Gotta try and keep up my fitness during this month off too so more riding is planned, possibly to Mt Cootha this week, weather permitting.
