After several trips to the phone repair shop, I was told I would be getting a new one free of charge. They lied:  I rocked up to the shop all excited at the prospect of having a phone that could be relied on to not switch itself off whenever it felt like it (usually mid-call) and a phone that didn’t freeze random keys so that when I’m on the phone I don’t get an annoying ‘beep beep beep’ sound in my ear each time the key that is stuck down decides to make its presence felt. It sounded like I had a 2 year old mashing my keypad with its chubby little fists.

Instead of presenting me with a new phone (like they said they would), they gave me my old phone back with new inside bits. What was the freakin’ point in that??? What are they going to do with the outside bits of the phone they extracted the inside bits from to offload onto me?? Keep it sitting on a shelf somewhere just in case someone with the exact brand and model as my phone wanders in with a cracked screen I suppose.

And the best part of this whole debacle is that the warranty on my phone won’t be re-started even though every working part has been replaced! No, the warranty just continues on where it left off before the phone curled up its keys and died on me.

That’s the punishment I’m to endure for being dealt a dodgy mobile phone, making the trek to the repair shop three times in 3 months, having no working phone for a good chunk of the aforementioned 3 months and also for having the decency and self control to not hurl my phone against the door of the repair shop in frustration!!!

I tell ya, it had better not skip a single beat in the rest of its all too long an existence with me....
