The Nightmare Before the Christmas Party

Given that it's "that" time of year, my co-workers and I unsuccessfully attempted to organise a Christmas Party for ourselves.  (Did you like my Xmas colour fonts there? :)

If you thought women were a difficult group to get a decision from, then you ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to a bunch of guys! I am the only female in a group of 10 which at times is excellent:

no one to compete with appearance-wise (not that I am really that type of girl anyway, lol)
no moodiness to contend with and,
they look after me, cos I'm the only girl

But it was really funny watching them try and decide on a venue and whether or not we would BYO or share food.

Over a 2 week period, there were about 20 phone calls made to potential venues (apparently none of which were suitable) and in the end they decided to go with the original suggestion which was made specifically because it had everything they wanted in the first place. But let's not be hasty and make a decision based on something that suits our needs here!!! Gotta check out every other place in town in case there's something better on offer!

Throughout the decision process, each guy said at least 4 times something along the lines of "I'm easy, I don't mind where we go" or "Doesn't bother me, I'll be happy with whatever we decide." They were so busy being all-too-casual, relaxed and easy-going that NO ONE would actually make a decision!!!

I've found that the more people involved in a decision, the harder it is to get a result.

So with mere days out from the party, we are yet to decide on a time, menu, and whether or not we will buy a gift for the boss.

But before you say "Kaos, why don't you just organise the party yourself if they boys can't?"  Being the last person to arrive in my section, the only girl and the youngest, I decided that perhaps it wasn't in my best interests or job description to do it for them. :) That and the fact that I'm not their bitch....

Perhaps I'll just turn up when I feel like it, bring my own food and a gift for the boss. :)

Merry fekkin' Christmas everybody!

Same happen with the two men in my life, husband and son.... Ask them to make a decision. The answer will be: "Whatever..." Whatever it means?

Believe me, this party will end up sucking big time, haha. It's also forecast to rain here this weekend, which will really put a damper (excuse the pun :) on our party....of course there's been no thought put into any alternative locations in case of wet weather.

As for Tori, I was lucky enough to see her play in Brisbane this year and get a photo/autograph at the meet and greet. :)
