| So far so good...but NYE was awful

After making my resolution to drink less soft drink in 2008, I'm doing pretty well, albeit only 3 days into the new year! I haven't had a softdrink yet this year and haven't had the urge- almost sounds like I'm trying to give up smoking! I guess nearly anything can become an addiction if you incorporate it into your daily routine.
My new year's eve sucked pus big time. I was working, (as I'd said in my previous post) from 10pm until 6am. Plus it was raining and very windy - there were even suggestions the fireworks would be canned cos of the weather. But the show went ahead despite the weather.
Then at about 1am, my night took a turn for the worse: someone got stabbed and the offender threw the knife into a dodgy alleyway, which then became a crime scene.
Lucky me and my partner got to stand in the rain,in a rat-infested alley way that smelt of urine and vomit for 2 and a half hours guarding the crime scene waiting for the police photographers to do their thing. I was quite miserable by the time we were eventually able to leave and seriously wondering why I did this job, especially when my husband was mere 2 streets away at a club havingĀ a great new year's eve without me.
It goes without saying that 2007-2008 was the worst New Year's I've ever had.
Let's just hope the year gets better...

I know what you are saying about being addicted to pop...I HAVE to have my Pepsi and quite often I have to tell myself not to drink so much. It has been an ongoing resolution for quite some time.
Sorry that your New Year was so bad...here's hoping it improves......
Cheers!
