It's my last day of holidays today. It really has been nice to just sit around for a month and do whatever the hell I want (within limits of the law, budget etc of course!) whenever I want.

I decided to take the month of February this year because:
*I had too much leave accrued and was told to take leave or else (or else what? I'm not sure...)
* February is a very hot month and it's not much fun riding bikes around in 35-40degree heat
*My birthday is in February

Well this Feb was the wettest and coldest one we've had in Brisbane for years!!! So that kinda negated my 2nd reason for leave...but riding around in the rain is almost as bad as the heat so I probably picked up bonus points for picking the weather there...bonus points? What the hell am I talking about? What sort of competition exists where you get points based on which days you choose to have off work? Ok, maybe I should go back to work, kinda starting to lose it a bit here...


Going back to work is going to be strange for a number of reasons:

* after a month of getting out of bed whenever I wake up, the alarm will sound like an air raid siren drilling into my head each morning
* there will be people in the office I'm yet to work with and I'll have to learn their style of operating and vice versa
*I won't have nearly as much time to practice my drawing skills for my tattooing career ambitions
* the house, which has spent a good portion of my month off in a very clean state will resume it's usual protective coat of dust

I also threw my hand up for a week-long skill expanding course. I've heard mixed things as to the usefulness of this course, but I'll decide that for myself next week. And hey, it gets me out of normal work for a week so it can't be too bad eh?!

So yes, last day of leave and what to do? Well I've already packed my bag for work tomorrow, done a lot of washing so I've some clothes to wear, pumped up my bicycle tyres for the ride to the train . 

Right now, I'm stalling because yesterday I started a rather challenging drawing of an egyptian sphynx (sp?) which I'm not sure how I'm going to finish, but it's not going to shade itself in, now is it? So it's back to the drawing board, literally!
