Well it’s day 2 of my holiday and the weather has definitely picked up.
I’ve been very busy so far:
I’ve managed to block the kitchen sink up with an egg yolk (an egg yolk??!!)
I tried to make a banana cake but didn’t have enough ingredients
I clipped and washed the dog
I even cleaned the whirly bird air vent in my shower.
All very important things to be done on one’s holiday!
The egg yolk incident started about 2 weeks ago when I made a delicious low-fat chocolate mousse (it’s so yummy you wonder how it could possibly be low fat! If anyone wants the recipe, just askJ). The mousse needs a couple of egg whites so rather than waste the accompanying egg yolks, I decided to keep them in the fridge until I thought about how to use them. Well time passed by and I didn’t decide what to do with the yolk, so it formed a kind of yellow sludge film which I decided yesterday HAD to go.
But the egg yolk-film must have got stuck somewhere in the sink’s downpipe and formed an air pocket that just wouldn’t go away. It even started sending water back up the pipe into the other sink bowl beside it!
I was wishing we owned one of those funny looking plunger things you see in all the movies so I could suck the yolk back out of the sink.
Luckily my husband rescued the situation and somehow managed to seal off one sink which broke the air pocket and fixed made it all go away.
I wonder what adventures lie ahead of me today!
