the fear that you will fail
when you have fallen once, you are sure that there is going to be a second fall, maybe a third and a fourth, depends on how careful you are. if you are too careful, you just might fall anyway-like they said, if we knew we were going to fall, we'd make provision for a softer fall but somehow, most times, we dont know, we find ouselves on the ground and decide whether to pick us up and keep moving or to pick us up and head back where we started to let the stronger take on the walk. We do our best to protect ourselves, keep the right company, eat the right foods, give the professor the right amount of attention, work to our best-but who ever said that was enough? it seems that there is always a catch somewhere, you think you've made head way in your run, next thing you know, your going backwords because the end of your skirt got caught in the thorny bush. we never know, each day, it brings new revelation, we're awakened to greater heights, fears and strengths. but what do we do when the fears seem to overtake us, when the confidence is lost and all we have left is shreds of lost victory?? we like to hang on to stuff, to hold on because we fear to have nothing, but is it really nothing to have you?? yourself! unless even you fail you. the person that we fail to appreciate the most, to cherish and love and entrust in the hands of our maker is us. we set standards that we have seen others set for themselves and when we fall short, we determine that as failure. why do we allow others to set a standard for us?? why do we believe in ourselves so little? we have so little faith in our capabilities we make it really hard for our maker to work with us, we dont believe that the work He did in us was good enough. we fail, thats true, we get up in the morning, purpose to hit all our deadlines, to treat everyone right and so forth, its on that day that we make our best meal and almost burn the house down, in frustration, scream at the people closest to us, miss deadlines and hate ourselves-again we fail. we forget that we are only human, not anywhere near perfect, we forget that no one ever asked us to be anyone else but us, but still we try because we want to impress those that we love or want to notice us, or because we want to get ahead, why do we think that who we are just now, is not good enough to get us where we want to go? why do we kep trying to be somebody else but us?

Great points to ponder.

It seems as though as humans we have a quest for perfection. So people eventually accept the fact that who they are, is who they are. Many go on to destroy their own lives on the path to perfection, or when seeking approval, and acceptence of others. Just human nature I suppose.
